๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค MIGHTYMAXI ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’š 4yo g Preferment x Miss Minogue 9: 1: 1: 0 taking his prize money to $44,050.

On the 10th of April Max and Jackson got the cookies over 2100m breaking his maiden status and a fairly long drought for the team. Jacko and Max get along like a house on fire, with the JKB racing apprentice giving the big fella an absolute peach of a ride to take home a TASBRED bonus as well.

Max has become pretty well known and appreciated member of our team, the stable โ€œlead ponyโ€ with his steadfast temperament and goofy outlook on life. From day one he has never changed. We are so grateful to his ownership group for their patience and understanding through kissing spine surgery just over a year ago, with ten sites needing surgical intervention and a long and slow rehab process. We had no guarantee he would ever make it back to the races, let alone anything else. We are pretty proud of this one.

Congratulations to his connections and Jacko who also rode his first winning double, his breeders and a shout out of appreciation for those who are helping us so much while we are both out of the saddle.

FLYING ARTIE x STROAK (real saga) c**t. Impressive big type with a nice walk, a heap of early talent scattered through his immediate family and dam line including black type/city wins, we are thrilled to offer him up for grabs with perfect X-rays and clean scope. His dam was city winning black type 2yo with the only foal to race a black type 2yo and raced on at 3 to be a multiple city winner and group placed. Some shares have already gone, so if youโ€™re keen to get on board or have any questions, donโ€™t hesitate to get in touch ๐ŸŽ

On New Yearโ€™s Eve Rowan ticked off a life long goal in getting his name in the history books as the third generation of HAMERs to train the winner of the King Island Cup, which is where he spent his younger years watching both his grandfathers and his father every race season. It wouldnโ€™t have been possible with out the travelling foreperson, his father Danny, spending the time on the island doing the work preparing these horses.

Congrats to Southern Jewels connections Andrew Noblet of the Miners Rest mob, and Randy Tan on a perfect ride!

Donโ€™t be mistaken by the picture, we arenโ€™t training pacers, and itโ€™s still Hamer racing, not Hammer ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

17th September ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’š

CHORIZAMA 5g by Jimmy Creed out of Finley Harper had much the same gear change as Barney, except he stepped out over further at the 1350 with Mehmet Ulucinar taking the steer. James wasnโ€™t too impressed with handing up the lead to Finxy going into the back straight threatening his โ€œhead flickโ€, but Mehmet got him settled and kept him travelling in his happy place. Coming into the straight and being headed by the favorite we did think โ€œripper of a secondโ€ with a huge split to the rest of the field, BUT the stable bunny/lead pony was tough after being headed to fight back and win by half a length. Owned by Claire and Ros Pyke there was 5 of us roaring at James, and dippy roaring at Chikane which you can hear on replay ๐Ÿฅฐ

The 600m replay on tasracing shows Claireโ€™s parents (Ros with chicken arms and Murray in the red jumper) chasing and cheering the kid to the post ๐Ÿ˜‚ not a bad angle that one! (Video in comments)

Oreilly Mcluke and EBB managed a pillar to post victory with a thriller of a finish, which you can hear on the replay ๐Ÿ˜‚ Blinkers on back to 1350 out of barrier 1 gave Barney as many favors he could have gotten. โ€œRide him like you stole him and try not to wobble off the railโ€ he did the wobble, but EBB rode him like she stole him and got the cookies. Congratulations to his patient connections!

LACERATE ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค

Finally. Finally Louis gets a gig. 17 starts 5 seconds and 3 thirds, a myriad of niggles and issues, Ismail Toker and Louis got the job done. Jumping from a wide gate over 1009m Ismail was content to keep Louie relaxed and sit outside the leader, cruising up the straight to pull away to win by a length. On replay you can hear we donโ€™t start cheering him home until the 50, emotional damage from a few of those placings I think ๐Ÿ˜‚ thank you to his patient owners, even if a couple of you watched the race with a full beer! No faith I tell ya ๐Ÿ˜‰

To say we had challenges and issues with this horse would be an honest statement to make. One outstanding issue was his club front feet, increasing the jarring through his body and making him reluctant to change leads to give himself fresh legs in the run home to the post. We asked the same question and changed the wording with his farriery resetting fortnightly to try and correct and support. It just wasnโ€™t quite enough. With the help and support of our farrier we changed the question. Can we go farrier trim and tips to race? Will it help him? Will his feet be strong enough? Will he wear more than he can grow? Thank you to Luke for putting up with Claire being neurotic about Louisโ€™ feet, supporting Louis through the changes while spelling and helping keep his feet in tip top condition to get this maiden win.

RING OF HONOUR ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š

19th Feb at launceston (yes. I have failed the socials dismally but we are busy ๐Ÿ˜‚) Phteven and Troy Baker teamed up with a run over 1400m that had us all squirming half way up the straight as our little bloke was sweating on a gap. When the gap appeared Troy asked and Phteven shot through and didnโ€™t look back.

7th May at Devonport Phteven teamed up with Erica Byrne Burke over 1350. It was a day we went with 6 runners and drew very wide gates with all of them. We had no expectations but just hoped for an honest showing from the team. Travelling 3 wide the trip with inconsistent cover Erica nursed him through into clear running in the home straight to right herself after two very tough seconds on phtevens stable mates for the day.

KING ISLAND BOXING DAY

King island produced the goods again this year with a team double.

Maywyn is the word upped his game with Ismail Toker on board over 1400m, making it 3 wins from 5 starts on the island in the last two seasons. It was great to see Bounce behaving himself a bit better, he loves living up to his nickname ๐Ÿ™Š

Paxa Punch got the cookies over 1200m with Thomas Doyle on board. This little horse is part of the miners rest cup team, owned by Andrew Noblett and sponsored by Tile Importer ๐Ÿ’š

3yo g Royal Beluga x Tough Speed

Charlie and Ismail paired up together again against the older horses in the Ladbroke it! BM62 over 1600m in Hobart Sunday, stringing together their third win in a row. Having only his fifth start in a race he has had a different experience in the run each time, and while racing greenly he is still getting the job done in nice enough style with plenty to learn and improvement to come. Charlie went round Sunday lugging equal top weight, with the least experience in the field, to land a time .15 outside of the track record and 2.45s faster than the other mile on the card. Now itโ€™s time to square up in his age group and see where he fits in ๐Ÿ’š

Congratulations to his connections, Hugh bowling, Rhonda Lewis, Fran and Denis Hamer, and Claire Pyke.

Charlie (3yo g Tough Speed x Royal Beluga) makes it two on the trot stepping out over 1600m in the Phil Hughes office solutions BM60. Ismail watched it all unfold in front of him as a cracking pace was set, getting clear room coming into the home straight to work through to the line with a comfortable win. We are absolutely thrilled with our lad, and excited for what the future may hold. Congratulations to owners Fran and Denis Hamer, Hugh Bowling, Rhonda Lewis and Claire Pyke.

A tough performance by the 4yo Manhattan Rain x Detonation mare in the lafm 1200m maiden. Roxy was rated perfectly by the Wells Racing apprentice Taylor Johnstone to lead through out and narrowly get the chocolates. Born and bred at the beautiful Armidale Stud where they retained the ownership, broken in by the Baker family and then started her journey as a member of our team. We are over the moon to get one on the board for long term friends the Whishaw family, extremely proud of this mare and her grit and determination.

Third time is the charm for this little bloke scoring the win stepping out over 1400 in his third race start, aided by a peach of a ride from Ismail Toker. We are pretty darn proud of him. Ticking off the teams first Tasbred winner, owned by Hugh Bowling, Rhonda Lewis, Fran and Denis Hamer and Claire Pyke. And also bred by us too!

Royal Beluga was purchased at the tried sales by David Whishaw and Rowan to race in Tas before going to stud, in the process she gained herself the crown of Devonport racehorse of the year with Ismail on board as the Ensign Lodge stable apprentice many years ago, so we knew when he spotted a cheeky little chestnut c**t at the track and said โ€œis that the Beluga?โ€ it would take more than a crow bar to get him off him when the time came for Charlie to step out and become a racehorse ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿฅฐ

ROY the stable stalwart and his favorite jockey Ismail Toker yet again partnered up for another win on gods carpet yesterday, settling midfield and letting it all unfold in front of him Roy watched on with his ears pricked waiting for his pilot to make his move. Carrying 3.5kg more than the runner up, 7kg more than third place and covering the most ground is an enormous effort by this honest ol horse. We are so very, very grateful and proud.

QUICKEN UP... two on the trot for Lilith! I have dropped the ball with socials again!

28/08 Quicken Up (Hellbent x Skyerush 3yo F) made her debut in fine style in Tasmania after arriving from QLD in April scoring a green but convincing win over 1150 with apprentice Taylor Johnstone in the pilot seat. Settling 3 wide with out cover through out to pull away in the straight to win by 0.5L.

11/09 Quicken Up makes it two from two in the apple isle over 1150. Box seating behind the leader Taylor Johnstone was able to get Lilith to settle kindly before getting clear running coming into the straight. Still showing plenty of green behavior in the straight they were able to get the job done by 0.75L.

Congratulations to Lilith's connections on not one, but two wins!

The ever cute and cheeky ROYAL AND TOUGH aka Charlie enjoying his PEMF session with Elite Equine Pulse Therapy this week. I think he looks rather proud of himself ๐Ÿคด๐Ÿผ

We try and do the most we can for our team in regards to physical treatments to aid in recovery, prevention for deeper soreness/injury and simply their over all wellbeing and happiness. We have watched our Mainland friends incorporate PEMF into their stables, and itโ€™s been brilliant being able to add PEMF to our horses schedule to help them be the best they can be.

Have a look at their page, they explain the benefits better than I can โœจ and the horses speak for themselves, they really enjoy it!

LATE POST ๐Ÿ˜… oops

3 July ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š RING OF HONOUR ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š got the job done with David Pires on board over 1150. It looked a bit concerning up to the 400 as Phteven was quite content snoozing and bowling along with his ears pricked, watching it all unfold in front of him, when called on to get moving and clear he raced a bit greenly but got the job done with some slick times on paper for the concluding stages. Thank you to Pires for the ride and a congratulations to Phtevens connections, some of which experienced their first winner and had the hangover to show for it.

Hamer Racing DOUBLE ๐ŸŽ‰ after a very quiet few months weโ€™ve had a ripper of a night.

MISS DELIA 4F by Dundeel out of Maigrets Cat opened her Tasmanian account with a bang claiming a nice victory over 1600 with Siggy Carr in the pilot seat. Delia arrived in Tasmania from the care of Les Bridge at Randwick four weeks ago in brilliant condition, we gave her time to settle in to an entirely different atmosphere up on the hill. She was very green tonight and unsure of the change of direction which Siggy held her hand through out to get the job done in a nice fashion with her times comparable to the BM68 mile. Congratulations to her owners Hugh Bowling and Claire Pyke ๐ŸŽ‰ Delia will now head off to the paddock for a well earned spell after a nice Sydney prep and a big state change.

BARJEEL 8G by Foxwedge out of Te Akau Coup made tonight his 60th race start for a tough win over 1600 with Ismail Toker back on board. After settling towards the rear of the field and watching the action unfold Ismail patiently waited his turn to get the old boy rolling down the side to place a challenge late down the outside of the track. Ismail and Roy have an exemplary record as a team and it was brilliant to see them reunited tonight and get the job done for very happy owners Bruce and Kathryn Goss ๐Ÿฅณ by golly weโ€™ve had some fun!
