Now we know that nail trimming can be stressful for our dogs and for us…These are nails on rescues that recently arrive to Pugs SOS 😮🛟

Regularly trimming a dog's nails is crucial for their health, comfort, and well-being. It helps prevent pain, discomfort, and potential long-term issues related to joint and skeletal problems, mobility, and even skin infections.

Long nails can affect a dog's gait, weight distribution, and posture, potentially causing strain on the legs and joints, especially in older dogs or those with arthritis.
Please keep nails maintained as much as possible, the benefits of regular nail trimming go beyond just preventing health issues it can also improve your dog's overall behavior and mood.

Miss Polly is a beautiful 4 yrs pug x and has been in foster care for 5 months while our wonderful vets treated her for bladder stones and skin issues.
You, our wonderful supporters raised funds for her care and we are over the moon to announce she is bladder stone free and this was achieved without surgery, rather with medication and an appropriate medical diet.
IMPORTANT - Polly has had bladder issues all her short life & MUST remain on a STRICT prescription diet to remain bladder healthy. She is NOT incontinent but requires a doggy door and encouragement to toilet outside (still learning how a healthy bladder feels)

Polly will quickly become one of the family, an inside dog, who will sleep on your bed, or in your room in her bed.
She thrives on her human presence, contact and attention (but is not a velcro dog) & she loves being wherever you are. Suited to children – over 6 who will play, snuggle and run with her in a gentle & calm way.
She enjoys living with the company of another calm and gentle dog and likes to play with soft toys.
Eager for her daily walks and absolutely loves to run at the park or beach.
Enjoys laying outside in the sun and getting too hot.
A bit of a diva at meal times, but has learnt “sit”, “wait” and “go”.
She is friendly and curious but is cautious with other / big dogs.
A lot of things while in foster care have been new experiences. She is still learning about doggy life.

Polly can be unpredictable with her anxious, nervous, uncomfortable behaviour if unsure or doesn’t understand her surroundings. She will bark, cry or whimper. This is occasionally seen on car rides, off lead, visiting and new places.
Pollys previous home environments are unclear, She requires a stable, routined & active family who will guide her through new and exciting dog experiences whilst considering her cautious approach and emotional well-being.

He’s lively, funny, handsome & brings such joy into his family’s world.

Miss Polly chose a puggy who is funny and quick.
Their family rolls with laughter at their silly antics.
They go daily to the beach to run around and have lots of fun when the city puggy cousins come to town.
Trevor packed his bag and his puggy hat and he burst into their lives and he didn’t look back.

Microchip Pet Registry company, HomeSafeID, will soon cease to operate online.

What does this mean? 👇
If you know your pet is registered with HomeSafeID, you will need to change your microchip registration to another company 📝

If your pet's registration isn't updated, should they go missing or are found, vets/councils/animal shelters will no longer be able to view your pet’s ownership details listed on their microchip when it is scanned, making it difficult to reunite you!

If you don’t know your pet’s microchip number or have lost their paperwork with their registration details, contact your veterinarian, council or animal shelter. They can scan your pet and provide the microchip number.

Barney is six months old and is in good health. He is a small breed, currently 2.2kg and expected to stay around this size.

🐶 Barneys personality is starting to shine, he is a little quirky and very inquisitive.
Barney loves human contact and is a little mummies boy. In his current foster home Barney has enjoyed the company of an active house with two fellow pugs and humans at home each day. He can roam both inside and outside. He will thrive best in this type of environment.

Barney settles in the car and gets excited at the sight of his harness for walk time.
Barney loves to play with toys. He also loves a little rest time on your lap. He is smart and food reward training works! He is toilet trained but may need guidance in his new home. 🏡

Barney has a lot of love and fun to share. Once you meet this little boy your heart will melt. ❣️
