The Catahoula is, beside a cattle dog, SAR dog, hunting dog, blood tracking dog, mantrailing dog, guard dog, herding dog etc etc.. also a treeing dog. Here, you see their natural instincts kick in, of baying / treeing a possum. 👌🏽

Dear Random People Who Want to Pet my Catahoulas

No. They are not shy.
No. They had not been abused.
No. They were not poorly socialized.

They just don't like you, and because they don't like you..... They don't want you to touch them.

For the record, they don't DISlike you either. You just literally do not mean anything to them and as such they see no reason to allow you to invade their personal space.

Yes, they back off when you try to force your unwanted affection on them. No, they are not afraid. They are just getting the hell away from you because they think you're rude and inappropriate.

Dogs that don't OH MY GAWD LOVE EVERYONE are not automatically mean or scared. Sometimes they just don't give a crap about saying hello.

Chopper, who's a West Siberian Laika and the girls Nami & Freya, both Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dogs. They are mother and daughter. Born in Germany and Czech Republic, bred in the kennel Besavej, where our first male Besavej Ares came from. 🤗

It was an early start, but we had a great morning.

Today, we visited Yaramoon Catahoulas. Their first litter of pups, nearly 7 weeks old. Sally & Willow, the great-grand dams of the pups, weren't too impressed 😅 Great bunch of pups Karla 👏

Hydrotherapy September 4th. How can these be related? Maybe because Willow (8.5yo) is "diluted" with Australian bloodlines 🤣 Sally is EU/USA x USA lines, so much drive still at nearly 11yo (Oct 18th) Keeping them exercised and conditioned while getting older is v important.

Catahoulas doing sheep yard work. Raine & daughter Oi If only farmers accepted the loudness in this breed, they'd be very pleased with their way of working stock. Whether it's sheep or cattle.

Sunday was a beautiful day for the beach. One son, one daughter, one aunty, one niece, two half sisters, a half brother and a mother 🤗 And one unrelated!
