Maverick, helping me water the plants.
Looking for a home now.
Rascal, renovator's delight 💕
This makes my heart sing. Shelby is the most shut down dog we've had in care. She had a freeze response to the world 😪 After a week with our amazing scared-dog-whisperer foster carer, Shelby's playful nature has revealed itself. There is still a fair way to go, but it is great to see her relax and engage with the things around her 💕 Imagine how much better she must feel now that she is not constantly on high alert.
Zoe, who arrived yesterday, is our third black kelpie girl in care! She has settled in quickly. She has a beautiful nature and will make a great companion for someone who loves dogs with kelpie traits ... but at a moderate pace 😀
New arrivals Zoe (older kelpie) and Rascal (six month old Dachshund x Cocker Spaniel). How cute is Zoe's play bow? 💕
One year old Maverick is so good with Coco - respecting his elders. She does give him a little reminder of who's in charge at 37 seconds in the video 🤣🤣🤣
Maverick is looking for a home now (Coco is staying here 😀 💕).
Mother (Sophie, 5ish) and daughter (Peggy, 3ish) will be having their vet work completed next week, then they will be looking for homes. Having settled in and shown themselves to be friendly, outgoing girls in a new environment, we feel they could happily be rehomed separately or together.
Great progress by Shelby today, thanks to Jet 💕
I was up late waiting for this little one to be dropped off by transport from a northern NSW pound tonight. Meet Shelby, a timid foxie x cattle dog (by the look of her). She was found dumped with a number of other dogs. Her shy nature meant she would not be easily rehomed from the pound, so she has come to us. We'll work on her confidence, have her vet work done, and find a new home when she is ready.
One of the latest arrivals, Sophie, learning an important new skill 💕
Maverick, who seems to think he is a lap dog, has two favourite things - a good scratch on the rump and food!
This is Maverick meeting Jet for the first time. Jetty offered his usual kelpie greeting of trying to start a game, which Maverick found a bit overwhelming. I watched them closely for a while and was pleased to see them settle. They'll follow each other if one gets up, but they're pretty happy laying near each other in their own beds in the backyard. We'll post Maverick's progress. He needs confidence and exposure to new things. We've seen that he does well with a friendly dog for company. Once in the car, he travels well, but he is nervous getting in, so that involved a bit of exertion on my part to help him up! 💪 We'll get there...
