Kathy (2.5 years old) is in URGENT need of a foster carer ... if you can please help with a safe space in a pet free home, where you can offer her some one-on-one attention to regain her confidence before we find her a fulltime home it would be perfect and so very helpful. We are currently having to isolate her away from other animals in an all too maxed out shelter situation. Thankyou in advance for your help. ❤😽🐾
As pet owners, we have certain responsibilities toward our animals.
Let's bring some awareness into why "spaying and neutering" play a significant role in responsible pet ownership on this World Spay Day 2024:
This simple yet effective answer not only prevents unwanted births but also enhances the health and safety of pets, reducing their urge to roam and the risks that come with it.
Spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) help prevent unwanted pregnancies. When pets are not sterilized, uncontrolled breeding can lead to an influx of puppies or kittens. These unplanned litters often end up as stray animals, contributing to the growing population of homeless pets and over run shelters.
Allowing unsterilized pets to roam freely can exacerbate the stray animal problem.

Foster families play a crucial role in providing temporary loving homes. WAPP will help provide you with support throughout the term of your foster and will pay for any medical treatments that may be required. 🐾
If you feel you can offer time, patience and loving surrounds.
If your mindset is that success is when you become the important steppingstone, to the end goal of a permanent home, then we desperately need your help.
Becoming an animal foster carer is a rewarding experience that brings joy to both the animals and the humans involved. 💞
This is your opportunity to find fulfillment by opening up your homes to the many needy cats and dogs currently trying to survive. Your help will increase your foster pet’s chance of being adopted by helping them to learn to live in a home environment, socialising them with other people and animals and guiding them to survive and adapt to new experiences.
A successful outcome is adoption, and your help is crucial. Please read our foster information on the WA Pet Project link below and fill in an application form to proceed in the process. A huge thank you. So many rewards are coming your way. 🐈🐕

Kronk is very active and playful. He is recovering really well from Femoral Head Ostectomy but still has a bit of a limp, so is requiring ongoing monthly physio for the time being. That comes at a cost as we all know, so any donations would be gratefully received. Bank details are below or a link to donate. Please use Kronk as the reference. Thankyou every little bit helps. 🐾🐈❤

If you think you could keep him exercised in your home, he is available for adoption. He has only just turned 2 and so there is lots of fun in this fellow. He is a shy boy but could do well in either an active or a quiet household. Kronk needs another cat for company as he relates best to them. Why not consider fostering first and let him touch your heart. ❤

Could you be their new forever home and give them the pampered lifestyle they love and deserve? 🐈⬛🐾🐈⬛🐾
This very adorable, bonded pair are looking for their forever home. Hilda is a shy 4yo, sweet girl with a curious and playful side. Arnold is a 5yo very chill, affectionate dude, who definitely loves his food. This unusual couple balance and support each other perfectly. ❤❤ Both cats would be comfortable in a home with either none or older children who are happy to give them space. With a slow introduction, they could also live with other cats.

Please think carefully if considering a kitten underneath your 🎄 Tree this year. While there are many benefits the commitment is a long one possible 20+ years.
*Health Care * Litter box maintenance * Exercise & Play * Grooming *Time & Attention
Owning a cat can be incredibly rewarding, as the bonds we form with our cats nourish their lives as well as our own. Bonds that can last a lifetime. ❤❤❤
All things considered and you're still happy to move forward with the adoption process then please follow the link below to these little cuties.
All of these kittens are young enough to fit into most homes with gentle introductions. House checks to assess suitability is the next step.

Leaving our pets home alone can be quite stressful for us and them. If you have other commitments during the holiday period, where you are unable to take your pet with you, then there are a few things you can do to make them feel more at ease. 🥰✈️🚋🚁🏔🏝
Pets like humans pick up on both changes in behavior and the environment they are in. So, if things will be different, here are a few things you can do to keep them a little more settled. 🌈💛🎉💚
🔷Don't make a big fuss of coming and going. 🫶💙🧸
Come and go in the same manner you normally would, even if the time away may feel different to you.
🔷Burn off some of that energy early in the day 🏃🏃♀️🥎⚽️🥘
Our pets need exercise, and they feel great for doing it, so if you are going out for an extended period, get some of that energy release completed early.
🔷Keep them stimulated and busy. 🥎⚽️
Ensure your pet has a few things to do whilst your away, it could be toys, food dispensers or other forms of activities that will keep the stimulated.
🔷Create or keep to your schedule where possible. ⌚⏱
Changes in the environment can cause anxiety in a pet, so keeping their feeding, walking and other schedules intact to helps minimize the stress.
🔷Build your pets confidence. 🦹🦹♂️🏋️♀️
Gradual changes to leaving a pet on their own can help build their confidence that being on their own for extended periods of time is just fine.
Petbarn put these tips in a simple article a few years ago, with a little more detail on the reason these things help. https://www.petbarn.com.au/petspot/petcare/tips-for-leaving-your-pet-home-alone-2/
There are so many other animals out there that live through this anxiety and stress every day. Do you have room in your home for a pet in need? 🐕🐩🦮🐕🦺🐈🐈⬛🐶🐱

Today is GIVING TUESDAY. 💌
An opportunity to give back to the organisations making a difference in people’s lives.
Never has the need been greater than it is right now in these financially stretched times. Finding the mortgage and putting food on the table and even a roof over the family’s heads means one of the major things must give way. Our beloved pets.
🐾🐈⬛🐕🐈🐩
People are more likely to be unable to fund the medical needs of their animals and are more often having to surrender them. Every day, families are finding it necessary to make harsh but very real choices regarding keeping or surrendering family pets.

Cats and dogs cannot respond to heat in the same way that humans do. We have sweat glands all over our bodies that help us regulate our temperature, but dogs and cats only have a few in their feet and around their noses. 🌡
Pets are very susceptible to heat stroke – and it can happen a lot faster than you may think. Never leave your pet in a car as temperatures rise extremely quickly even on mild temperature days and can kill pets rapidly. Provide cool shady spots and plenty of fresh cool water. 💦Exercise early in the morning before the major heat arrives. 🌞
Stay cool everyone and watch over your precious fur family members.

Fresh clean water is an important part of a providing a safe environment for your pet. There are hidden dangers that lurk in the simplest of places such as a water bowl. 💧💦🐶🐱🦊🐯🦁
Water bowls can contain bacteria and mould that could harm your pet’s health, as well as Blue-Green Algae which is toxic to cats and dogs. These can cause gastrointestinal upset at best and at worse even death. 🤮🍃☘️🩺
Here are some simple ways to minimize the impacts of water bowl contamination.
🔷never leave their bowl in the sun 🌞
🔷keep them away from bird feeders🦜
🔷bring outdoor bowls in at night🌚🌝
🔷preferably use stainless-steel bowls🥣
🔷clean them regularly🛀🚿
You may not think your pet’s bowl is dirty, but a film that may not be visible to the naked eye can develop on the surface.👀
The RSPCA shared a great article on the most effective ways to maintain clean water bowls, which even includes a dishwasher routine. https://www.rspcapetinsurance.org.au/pet-care/health-and-wellbeing/clean-water-for-pets

Happy Halloween everyone from WA Pet Project ... with all the excitement for kids and adults alike on Halloween please consider carefully your precious animals. 🐕🐈🐾
One of the biggest hazards to four-legged friends during this season is candy which can lead to pancreatitis, and we all know that chocolate is toxic. Along with all of those extra spooky noises and door knocking it won't be long before your puppy is begging you for some recluse at the back of the home.
No Stress and No candy No chocolate.
