The next generation of Abbiestars!
Coming soon to a show ring near you!
Today is international dog day.
Let’s celebrate by posting a picture of your dog here!
Pupdate!
Six of the seven pups have gone and are well settled in to their new homes.
This little one is Kona. She is with us for a week or so before heading to her new home in Sydney.
Today she had a great day playing outside with mum Harper and dad Luca.
Miss Millie Mason has headed off to her new home.
Millie is Abbiestar Vizsla #3 for the Mason family.
She was a great surprise for the family and is a little sister to Sunny.
(Sunny is our Pretzel’s sister).
Not our day today at the show.
However, we could not be happier for our friend and supporter Charlene, whose beautiful Bracco Italiano won his best of breed, went on the win BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP, and then topped it off with the big one, BEST IN SHOW!
Congratulations from all of us at Abbiestar!
Our warm congratulations also to our friend Alicia who took home Runner up to BEST IN SHOW with her beautiful Dalmatian puppy!
Luca is doing some much needed show preparation before going in the show ring.

Congratulations to the Munro family on taking home their new puppy, ‘Dolly’.
Dolly is the second Abbiestar Vizsla in the Munro household.

Gavin has arrived safely in Brisbane and is getting to know his new family.
Gavin is the Young Family’s second Abbiestar Vizsla.
Pupdate!
Gavin has landed!
Pupdate!
Brisbane bound puppy also safely boarded for his flight.
Gavin did not want to look at the camera 😂😂😂
Pupdate!
Perth bound puppy safely boarded for his flight.
Safe travels little one!
Pupdate!
The departures begin.
The first two boys have just left.
One heading to Brisbane. The other to Perth.
Looking forward to updates from their new families announcing their safe arrivals.
It’s the last night at Abbiestar for most of the puppies.
That means……BATH TIME!
Gavin, who flies to Brisbane tomorrow, looks suitably unimpressed.
Pupdate!
CCTV footage shows the pups fast asleep after a hectic morning of feeding, playing, cleaning (oh so much cleaning!!!).
Everyone is exhausted!
Now 8 weeks old and tomorrow their journeys commence as they head off to their new homes.
Twenty years ago this month, Michael was nominated for and awarded an Honorary Life Membership to the Hungarian Vizsla Club of Victoria.
His commitment to the breed remains strong today.
A great day at Tatterson Park for the ENDURANCE TEST superbly hosted by the White Swiss Shepherd club of Victoria.
Judge Alistair Henderson awarded the “Endurance Test” (ET) title to all entrants including:
Australian Champion Abbiestar Luca Von Pillersdorf ET,
Australian Neuter Champion Abbiestar Aix En Provence ET,
and Abbiestar Halley’s Comet ET. (All three ANKC pending).
Our thanks to Scott Beaven for handling Luca superbly for us today.
Early morning. Two Vizmobiles. Bikes and dogs.
Something is happening…
Pupdate!
SEVEN weeks old yesterday!
Less than one week before the pups leave for their new homes.
One will head to Brisbane, one to Perth, and one to Sydney. The other four will remain in Melbourne.
All but one are going to existing Abbiestar families.
It is indeed the greatest compliment when families return to us for their second, third, and even fourth Abbiestar Vizsla.
Very happy with the official professional podium shot.
Luca exudes correctness.
Balanced, strong headpiece with deep muzzle, correct muscular slightly arched nape, level top line, good depth of chest, correct croup, good turn of stifle, correct body length to height ratio.
And of course, his elegant, far reaching light footed gait.
Tinky enjoying the afternoon sun.
(She refused to come inside).
😂😂😂
Pupdate!
These little munchkins are approaching seven weeks of age.
Just over a week until they leave us for their new homes.
Most of them have had their homes prearranged for 18-24 months.
That being said, if you are after an Abbiestar bred vizsla puppy, now is the time to speak to us about a forward booking.
“It’s not just a Vizsla, it’s an ABBIESTAR Vizsla!”
Call, email or message us for details.
Here is a truncated snippet of Luca’s group win.
A fine line up of dogs.
Very proud.
It’s been a long but great day at the Lillydale Kennel Club Championship Show.
Luca wins BEST INTERMEDIATE IN GROUP under Judge Mrs L Zizevske (Lithuania).
Getting some practice in with Hercules before the German Shorthaired Pointer Club Specialty show.
Huge show today.
Luca won his intermediate dog class, reserve challenge, and runner up Best of Breed.
Pretzel won her neuter class, neuter challenge and neuter Best of Breed.
We are very lucky to have many good friends with other breeds who always step up to lend us a hand. Whether it be holding a dog ringside whilst we exhibit another, handling our dogs for us, helping pack or unload our car, offering a friendly chat, a chair or even a glass of wine!
We of course love to reciprocate. And today Sophie had the pleasure of showing this outstanding German short haired Pointer ‘Hercules’ - Bladedge Undercover Hero (AI) for his owners Elektra and Nicole at the GSP Specialty open show under judge Mr Joel Wallis.
Pictured here being presented with the sash for winning BEST MINOR PUPPY IN SHOW.
Pupdate!
They are six weeks old and absolutely exhausting !!!!

Luca and Pretzel did well at todays show. Here is Pretzel strutting her stuff in the ring winning her Neuter Class, Neuter Challenge, and Neuter Best of Breed. Luca won his Intermediate Dog Class, Challenge Dog, and BEST OF BREED.
At nearly 10 years of age Dashi made her first ever trip to the dog shows today. It is so easy to see where Luca gets his powerful, elegant, effortless and correct movement from.
Sophie handled Pretzel beautifully at this morning’s show. First place neuter, and neuter best of breed. Well done!
First place: intermediate dog, and reserve challenge for Luca. With our grateful thanks to Elektra Oshyer for handling Luca so well today. #luca.thevizsla
What’s this? No Luca’s rich russet gold coat hasn’t faded. I had the pleasure of running my friend Joel’s magnificent Weimaraner, Jett in the group line up. Very happy that Jett won BEST AUSTRALIAN BRED IN GROUP! Well done Joel and Jett!
JKC Champion Abbiestar Cru showing off his elegant gait in the show ring in Japan. Having achieved his JKC Junior Championship and his JKC Championship, Cru now is set on achieving his International Championship status. Please join us in wishing him the very best of luck for his latest mission!
