Just had a wonderful trip to Ireland for the World Championship Sheepdog Trials where I got to watch my bestie from vet school compete for Team USA.
Unfortunately because I was out of the country I was unable to receive text messages last week, so if you tried to reach me and I didn’t reply it’s because I didn’t get your message so my apologies. I really loved watching the partnership of these teams!

This mare presented to me 1 week after getting this injury. Good wound cleaning and laser therapy 3 times a week have made a huge improvement and I expect she will be back to working cattle very soon. This is the first month’s progression. This is why I love my laser!

Dr. Kristin Doust is located in the Toowoomba region of Queensland. She offers mobile services for all animals, and in-clinic services for small animals. She is a veterinarian who is also certified in canine and equine rehabilitation, chiropractic, acupuncture, pain management, and laser therapy.
Why laser? Laser therapy is used to stimulate cell function. It enhances tissue healing and improves the rate of nerve regeneration. It also provides pain control. It is useful in injuries such as tendons and ligaments, as well as wounds. The Class IV laser used at Ironbark Veterinary Service offers the most current cutting-edge technology for this exciting treatment.
Why acupuncture? Acupuncture can be used to treat any chronic painful condition, as well as several neurological diseases. It is particularly helpful for back pain and disc disease in dogs. Most animal patients tolerate acupuncture quite well.
Why chiropractic? Chiropractic care is used to help restore natural mobility between joints, which in turn reduces muscle spasming and pain, and increased athletic soundness. Dr. Doust is certified with the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Chiropractic adjustments are helpful for any performance animal-large or small.
Why rehabilitation? Studies show that animals suffering from injuries, even when treated surgically, recover faster and become stronger if a good rehabilitation plan is in place. Rehabilitation can increase an animal’s balance, strength, and flexibility. Rehabilitation is also helpful for the geriatric patient that is losing strength with age.
