Horses' eyes...this conversation came up during our beach ride today... surprisingly, horses (Equus caballus) have some of the largest eyes of all land mammals. Their eyes are about 5 centimeters (2 inches) in diameter. For comparison, the eyes of elephants—which are much larger animals—are about 3.8 centimeters (1.5 inches) in diameter. "A real highlight of our time in the Bellingen & Coffs Harbour regions this past week was riding on the beach with HWH Stables - Upper Orara & Boambee Beach . Proud of the girls for heartily embracing the challenge to go from knowing only what they've seen on TV shows (😉), to learning the fundamentals of handling a horse, to riding on a beach without assistance from a lead rope. A big thanks to Chris Fenech for setting up a learning/riding experience that perfectly met our group's abilities - helping us build confidence in a fun and safe environment, all on a gorgeous day on the beautiful Boambee Beach."

HWH Stables' has been blessed to attract the attention of horse lovers who ask to volunteer their time in return for rides, and often the simple pleasure of being around my horses... this week we said goodbye to Mathilde Duroselle who returns home to France after her adventures down under. Mathilde was without doubt one the fastest learners of my horses names, the procedures, learning about hoof boots and generally super hard working and so beautiful with my customers... we will miss you buddy, and I will find you when I'm in UK/Europe later in the year. Best wishes and au revoir mon ami! 🙏🐴💙

Job done, I've trimmed all of my horses feet, fresh round bale out, and I'm ready to finalise some preparations for a holiday to Perth down to Albany with my children... we leave on Tuesday. Rainforest/River Rides along with Lessons and Equine Assisted Therapy will be available while I'm away, no beach rides though. The one the only Charli Robinson, we all know Charli from the popular Ch9 Travel Show, Getaway, which happened today at HWH Stables, as we were blessed to have film our 2hr Rainforest/River Ride, but every parent of young children will also know Charli from her time as the host of High 5 👋, thank you again Charli, and the entire crew from Getaway today for gifting HWH Stables with this amazing exposure... we can't wait to see the show!

HWH Stables' herd of horses are hard fed twice daily, and have access to Rhodes grass hay 24/7 all year round, particularly important as the cooler months set in along with changes to pasture grass availability. Keeping their furness fuelled within and I've never rugged my horses. Aged, stabled, itchy (dusk to dawn) or sick horses would be my only exception to this rule... each to their own of course, and no judgement. It is however part of my theoretical tuition provided in my horsemanship clinics and to regular students of my riding school that we all learn how these amazing animals that we all love and live for actually work... for more information research Internal Thermal Regulation (thermoregulation) and Thermal Neutral Zone in horses. Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful mummy's I know, the greatest most important job in the world... to Maria Fenech my mummy, I can not thank you enough for everything you have done for me as your son my entire life, and even moreso now as you help me raise our Lily and our Will... I love you more than words can express. Had so much fun today doing everything that you love... especially the CEX and your beloved pokies was the highlight, winners are grinners... love ya mum!!!

Escape Room, Prison Break, at the Big Banana.... this new experience is unreal, the best birthday party idea so far my children have come up with... the kids all loved it, I loved it, and we did it, escaped that is, with 6 minutes to spare... I'll be back... Happy Birthday baby girl!

Sophie Falkiner has one of the most recognisable faces in Australia. A television presenter well known for her work on The Great Outdoors, Wheel of Fortune and Sydney Weekender. Most recently Sophie has been seen travelling Australia as a presenter of Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender. Today, Sophie and her crew started a week of filming on the Coffs Coast, HWH Stables' took Sophie for a surf on a horse on one of our Sunrise Beach Rides! We all loved Sophie, while not a regular rider, Sophie did an amazing job riding Willow, a true natural who no doubt has conquered many and varied new experiences and activities in her time as a television presenter. HWH Stables is immensely grateful for this wonderful opportunity, and we now look forward to seeing the final edit in approximately 4 weeks. Thank you again Sophie, the entire Sydney Weekender crew and Coffs Tourism for including HWH Stables.
