So our bundle of joy, LL Dorothy made us so proud the other week with her ACE assessment score being graded Elite with a score of 83.25%. Just pipping her full brother LL Valentino (83%) from two seasons ago.
Many thanks to Jens Wehrmann, Ingrid Chester and all of the ACE Group Inc.

A special thank you to my good friend David Finch of Finch Farm for allowing me to show my filly with his foals. Both of my elite foals were by his stallion Calgary GNZ, an outstanding consistent performer and producer of top quality foals. And special congratulations to David on his outstanding results.

A special shout out and thank you to Katie from Calico Pony for sharing these photos. They’re amazing ❤️

Introducing Lindemann Lodge Dorothy 🖤

We recently welcomed this beautiful black filly to our family. Of course we’re thrilled to have produced such a stunning foal but we’re always just thankful for an easy delivery and a healthy mum and bub. She’s a full sister to our very own Lindemann Lodge Valentino (Peanut) and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her!

Special thanks to David Finch for giving us another beautiful Calgary baby ❤️

I’m sure meemaw Winnie is very excited to step in for baby sitting duties soon 😌👵🏼

It’s thanks to DDV Intensive care management that our beloved Peanut survived complications in his first week of life. Whether you use their services or your own general Equine vet, please monitor your foals milestones and arrange for assessment and testing of IgG in the first 24hours. And don’t forget to make sure mum is well. ❤️

The first few hours of your newborn foal's life are critical and it is important to be able to identify those foals who may benefit from early veterinary intervention. Normal foals show a reasonably predictive pattern of behaviour after birth, and any deviations from this can be an early indication of a problem.

After birth a foal should:
- Be able to sit on its chest within 5-10 minutes.
- Have a strong suck reflex within 20 minutes.
- Should be able to stand within 1 hour and nurse independently within 2 hours of birth.
- Urinate within 12 hours.
- Begin to pass meconium (first manure) within 12 hours after birth.

Early recognition of abnormal foals allows us to increase the chance of successful treatment and in turn a healthier foal. It is important to seek veterinary care if any of the following are displayed:
- The foal does not follow the above timeline.
- Born prematurely.
- Foal shows altered behaviour such as lethargy or wandering aimlessly.
- Weakness feeding or nursing other parts of the mare or trying to suck on other objects such as walls or fences.
- Foal is straining to urinate or defecate.
- Showing signs of colic.
- Diarrhoea.
- Respiratory distress or struggling to breath.
- Foal becomes lame and/or has swelling of the joints.

It is advised that both the mare and foal be checked by a vet within 24 hours of foaling. A blood sample can be taken at this time to measure the immunity (IgG) levels of the foal. Low levels of IgG means that the foal will need to be given plasma intravenously.

Darling Downs Vets offers field vets that are available to come check your mare and foal post foaling, as well as in hospital intensive care management of unwell foals.

What Sunday’s are for!

Shyloe is a 13.3hh bay quarab mare who will be looking for a new home soon. She’s a good all rounder and loves to jump but can be a bit spicy so she will need a confident rider.

The littlest members of the Lindemann Lodge family 🥺.

We bought our guinea pig Gurtie on nov 4 with no guarantee from the breeder that she wasn’t pregnant. We didn’t really think much of it until we noticed she was getting very round in the tum! A trip to the vet confirmed pregnancy and yesterday morning we had 3 baby piggies!!

Will definitely be confirming gender so we don’t end up will a whole herd 😅.
