This pretty POL Orpington /Wyandotte will be at our Helmsman auction on Sunday 17th. The Plymouth Rock cockerel entered is a full brother to the Plymouth Rock in the photo and the one that got Reserve Soft Feather Standard at Kyneton.

Managed to get out and about with some young Dorkings and a couple of Orpingtons before lock down stopped the shows again. This was the Orpington Club of Australia Annual Feature Show, combined with many other clubs. The Dorkings were entered with the VP&K.

Last hatch for the season. Yay!
I have some Dorking pullets and black or blue Orpingtons from this hatch. Check out the photo albums to see parents. 15 per chick. Dorkings about 90% accuracy with sexing. The Orpingtons are bred for showing and come from very good bloodlines and the Dorkings are an awesome rare breed, intelligent, cheeky and lay lightly through winter. Being a rare breed, I'm committed to the Standard and improving the breed.

The 3 splash Orpington girls retained from last season to join the breeding program. 10 months old now, so will be waiting a bit longer before they go in with the grown ups.

These little Dorkings and Plymouth Rocks are hatching for Fiona in Alice Springs, NT after the eggs were sent from Violet Town, VIC. Fiona did a great job hatching them and has kindly let me use this video to show you her new babies.
