I am so incredibly proud to be involved in our hospital care programme. Administered by Annette Walton-Guerin, anyone needing care for their dogs, can contact us to find a foster carer (we have an amazing fourteen families, so far) to care for dogs whilst their Mum or Dad needs to be in Hospital. We have families from Longwood to Benalla ready to love your dogs when you need them. Please advise if you need any support or if you wish to be involved.

Oh my God. Some of my clients know my home so very well. Thanks for the appropriate gift!

Hi All, this is a long shot. I have a lady, named Gueza with her dog Luna, booked in for a dog groom today. Unfortunately I don't have her contact details. Due to illness (as per Doctors advice) I am unable to work at present. Has anyone local got contact details for Gueza? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Have good days. Thanks, H

To all my wonderful clients. Our dogs don't walk on cerment or paths. Therefore don't work off excessive nail growth.

If you think your dog needs a nail clip, please book a ten minute slot on any Wednesday between 1500 -1700. This is a free service. I firmly believe arthritis starts with uncomfortable feet. Contact Helen, Bark n shed for any inquiries on 0426

It is with regret that Bark n Shed advises that we have no other option than to increase our prices. Over the last couple of years the costs of consumables (electricity, shampoo, etc.) and delivery costs, insurances, etc. have increased so incredibly that I have been forced to make this decision. Our prices are dependent upon time taken and I will continue to estimate prior to commencement of work. I understand that this will impact you and I will endeavour to minimise charges where possible. I thank you for your continued custom. Helen, Bark n Shed 0426217851

We had a really fun day in the shed. Okay, I know as a photographer I make a good groomer but I have fantastic clients who forgive this shortfall 😁. Thanks to Prue for sending through a photo that wasn't blurry!

I live in rural Victoria. On Sunday night I experienced the absolutely worst night of my life. My little lamb, The Jazzman, was suffocating in his own fluid. He was perfect Sunday morning (I thought). An 18 year old Maltese Terrier, slowing down but okay, drank and did his little morning ritual of an explore in the backyard. Then was tucked into bed, he was very vocal in his demands! We got him up (as demanded during the day), but by Sunday night he was unable to stand. I knew, when he awoke, he was in a very bad way, not interested in food or going outside. That was at 1800 (normal meal time). Commenced ringing vets at that time (from Benalla, Seymour, Shepparton and Wangaratta). Two individuals returned my call, and I sincerely thank you! Thanks to the emergency number that stated they had ''no good news'' and to Andrew, Warby Street, Wangaratta who was already on a call but incredibly kind. Meanwhile, my baby was in agony and I was literally contemplating hitting him over the head with the shovel leaning against my fence (No one should get to this stage!). Eventually had advice (from an absolute godsend) to contact Dr Lou Taylor, paws for peace. She was available for me to euthanize my baby (in Riddle Creek, at her home). This was after nearly four hours. No one should experience four hours of absolute agony (my Jazzman and ours). Not good enough! Everyone is short of services. BUT, I go to emergency care for whatever and am assessed by an intake nurse. There are Vet Nurses available for assessment. They wish to provide this service. Why can I not have a nurse (under a Veterinarians care), acknowledge there is nothing else to be done? Why should my baby suffer due to a lack of staffing. I have worked in care (of humans and animals) for many years and this is (guaranteed) the most horrific death I have experienced. I, honestly believe, this situation was preventable. If, an experienced Vet Nurse, working under the supervision of a Vet (similar to any human hospital situation) was able to assess The Jazzman's condition, we would have saved hours of agony and misery. I will be writing to Dan Andrew's to notify him of my Babies (and my family's) pain.

What absolutely wonderful clients I have had over the last few days. Only nibblers, no biters!

Good morning All. Due to the sad passing of one of my clients, I need to find out if any one of you has the room to rehome her cat (desexed Male). I would not say he's an overly affectionate little man, I do know how much he loved his Mum. She has been in and out of hospital for the last couple of years (I look after her dog and her wonderful neighbour has looked after the cat and her yard). If any of you have the space for an additional cat, please contact me on 0426217851. Guaranteed rodent and rabbit catcher by all accounts.

Had a lovely (but quiet) week. Thanks for coming. Sorry to those I forgot to get a photo of! I know, I am hopeless 😂.
