🎆Christmas is over but 2024 isn’t quite finished. New Year’s Eve can sometimes be a stressful time for pets with parties and fireworks being very popular. There are some small things you might be able to do at home to help ease this stress for your pets! 🎇
- REDUCE SOUNDS: Close doors and windows, keep the television turned up, cover your pets ears using a scarf, snood or shirt (this seems silly but can be very comforting).
- KEEP PETS INSIDE AND SECURE: This makes it very hard to find ways to escape, furthermore it can be helpful to create a safe space inside like a crate or corner of the house with their toys and blankets for pets to retreat if stressed. If you think they might escape, consider a GPS tracker on their collar!
- WEAR THEM OUT: Treats, walks, puzzles, exploring in the lead up can be a great way to make your pets feel tired and sleepy in the evening.
Last but not least…
- MAKE SURE THEIR MICROCHIP DETAILS ARE UP TO DATE!!!! If your pet does find a way to escape, returning them home will be almost guaranteed if their microchip details are current 🐾
