We have seen a rise in cases of 🦠pancreatitis 🦠 recently, so we thought it was time to spread the word!

The role of the pancreas in the body is to break down food and regulate blood sugar. Foods high in fat can cause inflammation of the pancreas which can lead to severe abdominal pain and other gastrointestinal issues.

Treatment often involves intravenous fluids, low fat diet and medications to support the symptoms. Severe cases sometimes require more aggressive treatment and if not addressed it can be fatal.

So please, think twice before you give into those puppy dog eyes at the kitchen table when you’re finishing your roast pork and try and avoid throwing the nuggets in the back seat at the drive through.

If you are looking to have a pregnancy X-ray performed to see how many buns are in the oven, we recommend it be done no earlier than a week out from the due date as this is the time where skeletons are developed enough to visualise.
