What a transformation!
This beautiful girl came in, she’s 1 years old.
She has never had a hair cut before.
She had a pretty good coat given the fact she hasn’t ever had a groom before..
HOWEVER…
I would never advise anyone to keep them this long without seeing a professional groomer…
I would always advise that a Pup which will need regular 4-8 week grooming, should see a professional groomer 2 weeks after their last vaccination. Roughly around 16 weeks old..
Many people ask why… and I will tell you a few reasons why this is important..
1) your pup needs to get used to the loud noises.
(The clipper vibrations, the blow dryer ect)
2) just like teaching your puppy to sit/roll & stay.. grooming is also a very important part of training, rarely it doesn’t come easy at first. You have to train them to sit, stay, and be still while you are using scissors, clippers ect.
3) Hygiene reasons.. have you ever had a puppy who has gunk in their eyes? Or the other end 🤢..As a professional groomer, we remove this safely with the right tools required… we don’t want your fur baby ending up with infections due to excessive amounts of build up in their eyes/back areas.
4) who doesn’t love a cute fluffy puppy who smells AMAZZZZING? Sending your pup to a professional groomer doesn’t need to end in a “shave” doing things at the right time (as early as possible) will just minimise the chances of needing to be shaved…. (Why? Because regular brushing/ bathing & blow drying your pet will result in a beautiful coat & sending your baby off your the groomer will help with that!)
5) grooming doesn’t come naturally for most pups, they need to learn they are in a safe place and that it’s a regular routine they need to get used to….
When you bring your puppy to a professional groomer…. They learn to feel safe & happy over time…
So book in your fur baby for a grooming appointment, keeping them on a regular schedule will help them learn the much needed routine which will continue on for their life ☺️

Although the heat hasn’t died down very much yet, it’s still super important that your fur baby has regular grooming appointments throughout the winter time.. some ask why? It’s because although their coat is nice and warm, the last thing we want to do is a shave down due to matting..
Grooming during winter is very important, a longer coat clip is what we love to do! WHO doesn’t love a cute fluffy smelling good pup during winter?
This is why it’s super important to continue booking for those winter months, consistent daily brushing, regular bathing & Blowdrying to keep on top of your fur baby’s coat is extremely important during the cooler months.

Little miss Lilly is a work in progress.. Lilly came to me, Frightned & aggressive… She has been told that to allow her to be groomed she is better off being put to sleep…. I knew today I would not have been able To give her a full clip, but today I sat with her.. 5 hours I sat with her, while she was lashing out, I was patient... Lilly has quite clearly been spooked from a previous grooming experience which has resulted in being Muzzled every groom and being held down.. Patience is key, I’m not in this Business to just get dogs in & out as quick as possible, I am doing it because I have a heart for pets. & I love them.. - so every week Lilly will come stay a few hours with me until she (Hopefully) builds trust. When she came in, she was trying to bite constantly.. by the end, she was very calm and allowed me to rub around her face, eyes, even rolled over for belly scratches.. although today she didn’t allow me to groom her, she did allow me to break down some walls to learn to build trust, (each time I left the room, I needed to rebuild that trust) & that was totally okay with me…… (My butt hurts from sitting on the concrete floor though but I would do it every day for a year just to get her trust 🥹) I hope she will trust me soon!! ❤️
