Dougie's Legacy Animal Rescue is run by three friends Emma, Leanne, and Deb. We take on animals from the local animal shelter in Wagga as well as other shelters outside of Wagga. We also take in surrendered animals when the owners can no longer care for them to give them ALL another chance at a happy home. We take on foster carers who take animals into their home and care for them until we find th

e best home suited to each animal. We do our best to provide all vet work each animal needs while in our care and are a non-profit animal rescue. All donations go to our animals, for their vet work, food, and other related necessities they need while in care.

Meet Buddy, a lively and energetic purebred Kelpie with an engaging personality. This little adventurer was found abandoned in a forest in pretty rough shape 😢but quickly began adapting to his new home. Although his exact age isn't known yet, Buddy is believed to be around 1 to 2 years old, displaying plenty of charming puppy-like traits. Since coming into care, Buddy has made remarkable progress, showcasing just how resilient and friendly he truly is.

With a heart full of affection and an incredible love for life, Buddy has shown that he's fantastic with kids and enjoys their enthusiastic energy. He has developed a playful habit of chasing cats, though he has never caused harm, demonstrating his gentle nature. Buddy's affinity for cattle and horses coupled with his strong work drive means he's ideally suited for a life where he can stay active. As a Kelpie, he thrives with ample exercise and would be well-suited for a home with space to run and explore, making him a perfect companion for someone with land.

Buddy might take a little time to warm up to men, but his natural friendliness shines through once he does. A caring family who can provide him with daily exercise and lots of love will be rewarded with a loyal and energetic partner who is always ready for the next adventure. Are you a kitten lover? Look no further! In about three weeks, we will have three adorable kittens ready for their forever homes.

Currently, they are just 7 weeks old and were rescued from a shed where they lived in poor conditions. Now, they are healthy, playful little furballs! These kittens are being socialized with children, dogs, and other cats, making them well-adjusted and eager to find loving families.

Oreo is a white male,
Ivy is a ginger and white female,
Jinx is a female tabby.

Each kitten comes microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, and fully treated for worms and fleas.

Heya everyone you may or may not know that we take into care a lot of palitive care animals. Here are 2 of our long-term Pallative Care Foster's. Elvis came into care with a severe skin allergy and both his crucible ligaments detached, he needs extensive medical care to repair his knees and will stay in care until we can afford to get these done. Blaze has a rare form of necrosis of the brain and medical ailments that come along with that, he will stay in care being loved and cared for until he decides he wants to cross over. As you would know it isn't cheap to keep up with the vet visits. So please if you can Donate anything or just share this post it will go along way. Even buying a $5 lucky number (we still have a few left) with the chance of winning a stack of prizes seen in previous posts 😊🐾🐾.

Dougie was just one of our palitive care animals and represents all the beautiful palitive cares over the years and all of those to come. The rescue is his legacy and our moto is “saving one animal won’t change the world but the world will change for that one animal “

Orchid is ready for adoption !! 😻

Meet Orchid, a shy and gentle soul with some serious sass hidden just beneath that fluffy coat. Although she is cautious, once she trusts you she’s all over your lap and begging you to throw her ball! 🥎

Observing from a distance at first, the twitch of the cat wand soon proves too difficult to resist as she pounces forward in spectacular fashion. Orchid has a particular fondness for balls, and loves when her human throws them for her to chase. After a good play she likes to carry her toys around, even partaking in some tug of war!

She is also a huge fan of love, if 24/7 pats were an option she wouldn’t be the one complaining! Helping with chores is a great passion of hers, she helps her humans by stealing the cleaning cloths and digging at the garbage bags. She’s nothing if not a team player!

Orchids new family will need patience and understanding, she’s super shy by nature and needs time to fall in love. However, regular play and gentle scratches will earn her trust in no time! She has quite the crazy personality!

Let this little girl into your home and once she trusts you she becomes your little shadow, filling your life with playfulness, love and cuddles. She would like a quiet home where she can relax, and lots of balls and jingly toys to bat around. 🐾💕

To be loved is to be changed 💜 Winifred is one of many little loves that recently came into Dougies Legacy care. She survived unfathomable circumstances whilst used for breeding, repeatedly. Her tiny body almost gave up 💔 Now she is safe with our carers, who are helping her on her journey of learning she is safe and loved.
