ADOPTION READY

Rare Opportunity Opie is a stunning 9 and half year old Silver Speckled Bengal who has had a very loving life. He has sadly come into our care as his owner has fallen ill and can no longer give him everything he needs. They want nothing more than Opie to be loved and have the best home for the rest of his life, being an only cat and having all the attention to himself. Opie has so much love to give, he wants to be with you 24/7 whether that is getting you to play with his toys with him or having a good cuddle in bed or on the lounge, Opie is never far away from his foster humans and will follow them all over the house to be close with them. He is a very vocal boy and chatters all the time small little chattery cherps and big meows when he wants to know where you are. Bengals are a very vocal breed of cat.
Opie does not do well with other cats and would need to go to a home where he is the only one. He tolerates dogs but is very cautious of them. Being a Bengal, Opie needs to go to a home with some experience and patience. You may see the wild cat side appear occasionally as this is only part of his breed and natural instincts.
Opie uses his litter tray well, has had all his vet work done he is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated. Opie is currently housed in Goulburn. Please click the link below to fill out an application form.

Muffin is a stunning young lady who came into care with her sister, who has been adopted, after being surrendered at a local vet. She was in a very stressed state and not a happy girl. She is now loving life in her foster home and has become an affectionate little poppet. She is still a kitten and loves her tunnel and toys. She loves a snuggly bed and enjoys climbing to the top of her tower to look out the window or bask in the sun. She would do best in a home with older or no children. If you think that you could be Muffin's forever family and shower her with the attention and love she has not have but deserves, please apply. Muffin comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated and vet checked. She is currently housed in Goulburn.

ASSISTED REHOME
Sophie is friendly with dogs and people (kids and adults) although she can be jumpy when excited.

She knows how to sit and wait for her food and is toilet trained. she is great on the lead on her own, when she is with another dog like her brother, she pulls more.

She has lots of energy and loves to go for long walks or runs.

Sophie has lived with another dog all of her life and would love to have another dog for companionship in her new home.

Being only a pup still she will benefit from continued socialisation and training. She is located in Canberra and is fully vetworked.

Tommy was a naughty puppy and we need your help! Tommy went on a digging and chewing spree at his foster home and ingested some irrigation tubing. He was discharged from hospital yesterday after very expensive surgery on his stomach and intestines. Please help fund Tommy's veterinary costs, a donation as small as $5 will pay for a tin of the special diet he must be on for the next few weeks. Best Friends Pet Rescue BSB 062-614 Account 10431271. URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTION
Bonnie has been in care with us for 637 days. That means many kilos of food, 3 vet visits, and 20 monthly wormers/flea treatments so far. While we love her, she really needs her forever home so we can save other dogs in need!

Bonnie
Age: 6
Breed: German Wire-haired Pointer mix
Size: 35kg
Health: Desexed, wormed, heartworm treated, vaccinated and currently on hormones to control a bladder issue which seem to be working.
Personality: Happy, goofy and playful once she is comfortable. Timid at first.
Training: Basics - sit, down, stay, recall, lead walking, crate trained, house trained, gentle taking treats, waits to eat, and will sit on her place inside when told.
Loves: Her human and dog friends, swimming and playing fetch.
Dislikes: Being left alone
Bonnie is a beautiful, loving girl who loves attention and being with her humans and dog friends. She currently lives with three other big dogs who she loves playing with and will annoy until they play with her or tell her to go away.
She can be a little timid at first in new scenarios or with new people and dogs but once she gets to know you she will demand pats and attention. She is generally excited to meet new people but is sometimes scared of some men. This generally only lasts a few hours before she starts wanting pats from them. Her favourite move is to push your hand with her nose and flick it onto the top of her head to get you to pat her.
At home, she loves playing fetch, getting attention, sleeping on the lounge or just generally hanging around. She doesn’t dig holes, rip things up, pull things off the line or bark unless there’s someone near the fence or she is trying to get one of the other dogs to play with her. She’s the type of dog who loves activity and action but is equally as happy getting pats and being with her people. However, if she thinks she has been left alone she will try to find you including jumping fences. But if she is contained in a solid crate or cage she will wait quietly.
Out and about, Bonnie is fairly good on the lead. She will occasionally pull a bit if she is distracted by a smell or wants to meet another dog she sees in the distance. Her attention can be gained back quite easily. When meeting other dogs on lead she is generally good but can get over excited or scared. Meeting dogs off the lead she is generally really good. Happy to expand more on this with interested people.
Bonnie has been around horses, cattle, chickens and cats and shown no interest in chasing them.
Bonnie’s ideal home will be active, caring and patient. She is a strong dog so if she pulls on the lead it is a lot. But she does respond well to training so this will continue to improve. She is great with other dogs but loves to roughhouse so resident dogs should be a similar size and age. She would also be ok as an only dog provided she had a secure enclosure when her humans were away from home. She is good with kids and very gentle so would suit a home with or without children. She absolutely loves playing fetch in the pool and swimming so a home with a pool dogs are allowed in would make her very happy.
History
Bonnie came from the council pound where she had been for months. We believe she may have been used for breeding puppies during covid as it was clear she had recently had pups at the time. She was an escape artist which continued intermittently but seems to have stopped. She will only jump out in search of her humans if she thinks she has been left.
Bonnie is located in Wagga Wagga NSW and ready for her forever home. Further information about her or meetings with her are available upon request.

ADOPT YOUR OWN PANTHER

Hi my name is Oden. When Best Friends saved me I was unloved, unwanted and underfed. When I moved in with my foster mum I was scared of all humans. It has taken me 4 months to realise that she loves me and wants to look after me. I have gone from underweight and having dull matted fur to being healthy and my beautiful black fur is so shiny. My foster mum says I am a very handsome man. I now love her sooo much that I want to snuggle her and I love ear and butt scratches. I love my food, sometimes a little too much and get impatient sometimes if it doesn’t get put down quick enough. I am becoming a chatty boy. If you think that I could be your special man and you are prepared to be patient with me, I would love to meet you. I currently live in Goulburn. I am desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, FIV tested (negative), vet checked, wormed and flea treated.

Tiger, Girly and Precious came into care with Best Friends Pet Rescue after their owner sadly passed away. All 3 cats are super affectionate and wanting new homes with a sunny spot to laze in during the day, and someone to snuggle up to on the lounge or in bed at night. They are quite chilled out and so would be suitable to be left alone during the daytime if you work. They did have a doggy friend in their younger days and are readjusting well to the dogs in their foster home. Whilst it would be nice to keep these 3 as a family unit, but they can also be split. Best suited to homes with no, or older children.

We’ve dramatically lowered the adoption fees of all our kittens and cats. Here are some of our fluffy babies below who are still waiting for adoption. They’ve had zero interest and we want to get them into their forever homes. You can check out their profiles on our website and see which cats are in foster homes in our main areas, Goulburn or Wagga. All vet work is done and they’re up to date with flea and worm treatments.

BEAUTIFUL, CUDDLY & CUTE!
Miss Misteek, Misty, Misty Moonor Princess is a beautiful regal lady. She loves to make biscuits on your lap and snuggle up beside you when you are sitting down and let you know with some chirps and purrs she is happy to have you around.
Misteek loves to know what’s going on and will follow you around and be your little shadow.
This beautiful girl is 12 years old and needs a quiet home, preferably an only child in the cat species. She is fine with any other animal just not fond of sharing space with another cat.
Misteek deserves a beautiful home to live out the rest of her years.

If you are interested in this gorgeous girl please let us know!!

URGENT 🚨

Foster home needed ASAP. Rockette is a 7-yr-old female Am Staff who we’ve placed in boarding kennels after her foster carer had to relocate. She gets along with some other dogs but is very selective, and she is quite rowdy and energetic. Therefore, her carer needs to have the ability to house her separately from other dogs and have no young children. She loves people and is food-motivated. Boarding kennel staff say she’s behaving well and enjoying her stay, but long term boarding is not good for any dog and we need to get her into foster or adoption urgently. If you can provide a home for Rockette, please email us via our web page.
