Doug Gorrel Racing Doug Gorrel Racing is based in Wagga Wagga, Australia at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. His first winner came at Cowra with bonny mare Liabilityadjuster.

Doug Gorrel started his racing stable in early 2016 at Thoroughbred Park, Canberra. Doug had previously worked with some of Canberra's stables and has had a lifelong love of racing - as a mug punter, bookies' clerk, racehorse owner, racing journalist, jockey manager and owner-trainer. But Doug most enjoys conditioning horses for others - as there is no greater thrill in racing than sharing in a wi

We’re back in the big smoke today and racing at Rosehill with ASGARDA. After a sensational effort in The Kosciuszko we will contest the TAB Handicap over 1300m. ASGARDA showed how tough she was last start after coming from last and finishing in 5th place. She flew home and was the second fastest horse for the last 600m. Thank you to everyone for your support and we look forward to today!

Our Country Championships star returned to the winners circle in her first start back from a well deserved break. With a new jockey on board, carrying 62kg and over a shorter distance this mare keeps showing how tough, versatile and honest she really is. With a great ride by jockey Billy Owen the duo flashed home with ease in front of a cheering Aggie’s Day crowd. A big thank you to Billy for piloting the big girl home in style 🥇
