Our patients love coming in to see our vets. ❤️ In Lola’s case, she preferred to have her check up on a more personal level. 🐶#wallanvet #northernveterinarygroup #staffiesdaily #staffies
Tonks, the Great Dane, showing us all how to sit on the scales perfectly. 💞Weighing your pet when visiting the vet clinic is an important way to see if there has been any weight loss or gain, as this can help the vets complete their full health examination. If you are concerned about your pet’s weight, our nurses are available to advise on diet and exercise.
We had a new “vet” visit us, Dr “Spice” came in to oversee the day, she approved of a little needle and some pats. This gorgeous girl saw us recently for a health check and vaccination. 💉 Did you know we are slowly receiving the F3 cat vaccinations back in stock from our supplier? Please call us to book an appointment on (03) 5783 2235, or book online via our website.☎️
The adventures of Kenzo 🐾 Kenzo, the Rottweiler puppy, spent the day with us for sedation and radiographs. We sedate our patients to ensure there is no movement or pain occurring during the procedure and so we get the best imaging results. He was very well-behaved and a popular patient that day. #wallanveterinaryhospital #rottweilerpuppy#northernvet #northernveterinarygroup

It’s all tail wags before surgery. 🐕 Maverick & Rayne saw us recently for desexing, we hope to see them both soon for their free post operative check ups to make sure they are on the way to recovery.🏥
🐾It's all fun and games until someone ends up in a buster collar.❤️Apollo, the Rottweiler, enjoyed seeing us recently for desexing and was super excited to show his mum his new cone.🩺 We recommend the Elizabethan collar, more commonly know as the "cone of shame" E-collar or lampshade for all our patients post surgery. This collar aids to prevent pets from licking or chewing the surgical site.
🐾 Kimba enjoyed attention from all our staff from the start of the day until she went home. 🐈 ‼️ Just a reminder to all our wonderful customers that we will be closed next Friday 29th September for the AFL Grand Final public holiday 🏆
❤️ Ruby showing us her extra puppy teethWhat are these extra teeth? 🦷 Puppies are born without any visible teeth and deciduous teeth begin erupting around 3 weeks of age. Deciduous teeth, also know as baby teeth, begin falling out from around 4 months of age. Puppies will have most of their adult teeth by the time they are 6-7 months. Sometimes these deciduous teeth do not fall out when the permanent adult teeth are erupting and are now called persistent teeth, resulting in crowding in the mouth. These retained teeth are more common in small breeds such as Cavoodles, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Maltese, Shih Tzus and Chihuahuas.During this teething process, puppies may show these signs:▫️Drooling▫️Loss of appetite▫️Bleeding gums▫️Tender mouth▫️Excessive chewing▫️Bad breath. You may also notice these teeth when they fall out and can be seen on the floor or in your puppies bedding, which is completely normal. Our nurses can do free pre-desexing check-ups to check your puppy's teeth. We can remove these teeth when your pup is being desexed.

Boop the Snoot 👆 Murphy was the purr-fect patient 🐾 He enjoyed hanging out with the nurses before his castration surgery; he was even purring afterwards. Did you know that we include a pre-anaesthetic blood test with all our desexing surgeries? A blood test is the best way to evaluate your pet’s organ function and blood cell count in order to assess their overall health before having a general anaesthetic. Any questions? Feel free to call us on (03) 5783 2235 📞
