FOUNDATION COURSE -
CONNECTING AND FUNDAMENTAL FEEL-
GLENORIE, NSW APRIL 15-17

This course is for those who want to:-

Truly and deeply “know” their horse. Who they are, how they feel, and why they do what they do.

Interact with their horses in the kindest, most compassionate, loving way that we can.

Discover or go deeper into a mind, heart and soul connection with their horse.

Learn physical techniques for groundwork with a quality of feel that horses love. And a quality of feel that will set you up for great riding skills or more advanced groundwork.

Develop energy and body awareness and learn how to use energy and body language in communication – the two most important communication tools with horses.

Solve behavioural problems,

Help develop the horse’s posture and physical body for optimal biomechanics, learn liberty, and how to ride in total Synchronicity with the horse. This course is part one of all those courses.

This course is also for those who just keep striving towards excellence with horses because horsemanship is a lifelong journey.

This is a Foundational course for my teaching but it is actually teaching a VERY advanced level of skill. Don’t let that put you off if you are quite inexperienced as it is taught from a multi – level perspective. It uses techniques from martial arts, yoga, meditation, intuitive communication, feldenkrais and many other modalities all specifically combined with my many years of experience with all types of horses in many different disciplines, for the purpose of developing people to be the best they can be. The goal is to create the most harmonious, fulfilling, relationships with horses as well as develop them as powerful athletes for performance or pleasure.

Here is the link to find out more. If you have any trouble viewing the link please let me know via DM. I have had some problems with my website and some people can’t access it. So if that is the case we can get you the information another way.

Spicy chestnuts being spicy 🌶️🔥☄️😍🤩🤩🦄👌💪. Thanks for the pix Govern Images😍👌 and the pony Abey Performance Horses. 2nd place by .28sec in 85cm, one rail in 95 and a rather “exciting” 🤪😝 and fun
rescue relay with Chloe. Even if she did break the “no
fanging allowed rule”, the pair proved they have found their groove, so it’s time to see what they can really do now. This was just a warm up - thanks to the Large Crew 😜 for everything you do to support us in The Quest 😀. Thanks to Hi-Class Equestrian - the sweet grey set surely made them ride faster 😀. Callie and Le Minx are powered by Pure Force Athletic Shields and JENT Bodywork and Horse First Australia supplements.

As the flood response continues, NSW Department of Primary Industries and Local Land Services are encouraging flood-affected landholders to keep requesting assistance through the Agricultural and Animal Services Hotline.
Landholders can request emergency fodder for livestock, animal assessment, veterinary advice and if required, euthanasia and burial.
To provide landholders with more options to lodge a request for assistance, a dedicated email has been created for the hotline. Landholders can now lodge requests by either:
➡️Calling 1800 814 647 (operating daily 8am to 8pm), or;
➡️Emailing [email protected]
When requesting assistance via email, please include:
•Full name
•Property information (Address, PIC) or locations
•Type of assistance required
The hotline continues to receive large amounts of calls. If landholders are not connected with a staff member immediately, rest assured they are working as quickly as they can to call you back.
If landholders are concerned their phone may lose power, and have no way of recharging, it is recommended they change their voicemail to include:
•Full name
•Property information (Address, PIC) or locations
•Type of assistance required
Doing so allows staff to keep progressing requests for assistance, even if we cannot speak to you over the phone.
It is essential landholders continue to register requests for assistance. This allows staff to assess individual circumstances and investigate all options to access and provide support.

Public Health Alert (1 March 2022): protect against mosquito bites

Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) has been detected in commercial pig farms at locations in regional New South Wales, northern Victoria and southern Queensland - indicating the virus is likely circulating in the mosquito population.

This virus is spread by mosquito bites and may affect animals, including pigs, and humans.

JEV has not been detected in the ACT at this time, however residents of Canberra and surrounding areas should take action to avoid mosquito bites.

Simple ways to protect yourself against mosquito bites include:

🦟Cover up as much as possible with light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing and covered footwear when outside
🦟Use an effective insect repellent on exposed skin and reapply within a few hours. The best mosquito repellents contain Diethyl Toluamide (DEET), Picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus.
🦟Use insecticide sprays, vapour dispensing units (indoors) and mosquito coils (outdoors) to clear rooms or repel mosquitoes from an area
🦟Cover all windows, doors, vents and other entrances with insect screens
🦟Remove any water-holding containers outside the house where mosquitoes could breed

Hi everyone,
I am thinking of you all & devastated I’m not there to help.

With my veterinary practice due to open next Monday I will instead be making myself available to assist as soon as I am able to fly back (hopefully tomorrow) & will advise when.

I know my colleagues in neighbouring practices are already doing amazing work out there on the ground saving lives.

Feeling helpless I thought I would share some information with you all on assessing your horses to see if you will require veterinary assistance over the coming week.

Key points
- Ensure your horse has access to CLEAN water, shelter, and fresh food (ideally hay) if possible. Keep horses out of flood water where possible.

If your horse is currently under shelter
- Stick to high fibre feeds such as hay (may be likely to tie up during stressful weather events)
- Monitor their body temperature - take their temperature rectally if possible (Normal = (37 - 38.5C).
- Monitor for signs of colic - include a tablespoon of salt in feed or use electrolyte paste to keep them drinking to reduce risk of impaction.

Horses that have been stuck in flood water
- As soon as you can get to them - assess for any signs of injuries - check legs for swelling/heat & for puncture wounds/lacerations. Penetrating wounds must be seen by your veterinarian ASAP. Check eyes for any signs of swelling or discomfort.
- Ensure your horse is up to date with Tetanus, this is crucial - antitoxins are available from your veterinarian.
- Signs of illness may be delayed for a few days so continue to monitor your horse for signs of lameness, colic, respiratory illness in the coming week.
- Bacterial infections/cellulitis is common in lower limbs & severe infections can lead to sepsis so should be treated as soon as possible.
- Early identification of aspiration pneumonia is crucial - if you think your horse has had to swim out of flood water - get them checked by a veterinarian when available.
- Dry feed is essential - mouldy wet feed will grow toxins.
- Severe rain scald may require antibiotic treatment.

Be patient & kind- your veterinarian will likely be triaging the most urgent cases over the next week or two as the situation develops.

Keeping you all in my prayers and will update when I am back in the area to assist.
