All sales are final. You are more than welcome to inspect birds to your hearts content and ask all the questions in the world upon pickup (and before), but once the birds leave the property there are no returns. From a biosecurity standpoint this is not a risk I’m willing to take.

I implore you to do your research into what you’re buying BEFORE committing to purchase to avoid any stuffing around. Unless I have explicitly stated that something is show/exhibition quality, expect it to not be perfect (and priced accordingly). I’m not an expert on breed standards by any stretch so PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING. Change of mind is not a valid reason for a refund. End of rant.

Reminder to please be kind to the people that pour their heart and soul into raising animals for you take home and make part of your family. It truly is a 24/7 job with no breaks, and I know a lot of poultry breeders are feeling incredibly burnt out by not only the amount of work that goes into it, but the amount of pressure we are under to get things right 100% of the time 🫥

✨business update✨

This has been on my mind for a little while, but I am officially taking an extended break from Hooked on Chooks. I don't owe anyone an explanation, but I understand that there will be some people who are disappointed. The toll that running this business is taking on my mental health, the impact that it's having on my family, and the constant anxiety about dealing with people is too much.

At this stage, I'm not saying that it will be forever, but it will be for a while. I will have a 'clearance' sale shortly to move on all of my chicks and eggs, and then that will be that for now.

I have temporarily turned off messaging so that I can have a break without deactivating my page.

Thank you to everyone who has been supportive of me, and thank you for your understanding.

I’ve finally finished downsizing, and thought it might be helpful to put out an update of who’s left:

For now, I’ve also combined the Legbars, Marans, Welsummers, and Olive Eggers into one (very large) pen, so will have ‘rainbow dozens’ but they will be mixed breed (price has changed to reflect this). All the roosters are staying so there will likely be pure breeds in there as well but no guarantee. This may change in the future but I’ll see how it goes having them all together.

✨Sunday drop in 13.10.24✨

IMPORTANT: this will be the last drop in for the foreseeable future. I am planning to take a break from selling for a couple of months to recoup for Summer 🐣 I will also be overseas until the end of October so would like my poor (incredible) husband to have less birds to keep track of.

My aim is to clear out the brooders so everything can be cleaned, sanitised, and organised without having to move chicks around too much. So, for this Sunday only, chicks will all be $10 each (excluding sexed pullets and Pekins). Quail chicks will be $2 each (hatched 28.09.24). I won’t be putting them up on the website to order in advance so it will be first in best dressed.

Chicks will be from 3 days up to 3 weeks old.
