It was great to see some of Mount Gambier & Districts Pony Club Pony Clubs own riders competing at the State Championship ODE on Saturday.
We had Amber on Avalon Reign Melodee in open grade 5, Cherie and Emil Emzar in PC grade 4 and MacKenzie on Jerricho in open grade 1 and Showtym shy in PC grade 1.

We also had Alicia Frankenburg and Harvey stepping up a grade coming 3rd place. Sarai Jenkins and Judy Jenkins riding under EA section of the competition.

Does anyone know when we last had a grade 1 rider at state champs?

Great effort from all our riders and volunteers behind the scenes.

UPDATED EVENT TIMETABLE: please note below is an updated event timetable now that the weather has decreased from 35 to 28 degrees with a cool change expected in the late afternoon. This will be emailed out to competitors by Event Secretary.

19/11/2024

The draw and schedule will be sent out via Event Secretary tomorrow morning.

We are monitoring the weather forecast and have taken precautions to accommodate the heat. Dressage will begin at 8am and run across two arenas. Cross country will start at 9am, the higher grades scheduled first with the aim to be finished by 12pm we will then break during the heat of the day and return at 4pm for Showjumping (this may run ahead of schedule dependant on the weather)

For riders with multiple rides, we understand times will be close - don’t panic, we will wait for you and manage this on the day. The draw has been finalised with the aim to beat the heat.

We are taking ice orders for $6e/a bag - please text Emma on the below number or comment if you would like to order. Ice will arrive at 8.30am Saturday morning for competitors to collect.

The Secretary office will be open on Friday from 5.30pm until 7pm and open from 6.30am onwards on Saturday.

For campers there will be a BBQ dinner on the Saturday night.

We apologise for any inconvenience and are endeavouring to take the best precautions for the weather so we can still all enjoy a fantastic event at Mount Gambier.

Back in the day the zone held an annual zone camp at the Beachport Pony Club. It was the highlight of the pony club year, an opportunity to catch up with old friends from other clubs, make new ones, ride at the beach and hang out with the ponies.

Anyway, it's been a few years between camps but it's back on the calendar this year on December 14th & 15th. If it's something you're keen to do, make sure you fill in the nomination form and flick it back to the zone email address and make payment to the zone bank account.

If you have any questions you can ask Emma Swaffer who is the Zone Secretary or Kelzie Schipp who is the Zone President.

Don’t forget to book your spot!

If you didn't remember to add a ticket to the Grizzcon Rider's Party to your entry, it's not too late to book a spot.

Instead of logging back into Nominate and trying to make it happen you can make a bank transfer to the club bank account, put the reference as your surname and the word dinner and flick us an email telling us how many tickets you want. Wrist bands will be provided for this event and you can collect them from the secretaries office when you arrive.

If the dinner isn't enough to encourage you to book in then the Sinkhole Gin cocktails will seal the deal...Without doubt the best place to dine will be at the rider's party, so don't be the one to miss out on all the fun. 🍹🍸

Bank details: BSB: 633 000 Account No: 167 676 170
Reference: Your surname and DINNER
