31-5-24. As we say goodbye to AUTUMN 2024, today also marks the completion of cleaning up an end of an era. All stacks are now cleaned up and gone. Time to watch the grass grow 🙃🙏

Also letting you all know that in the next few weeks we will have for sale 2-3 year old bare rooted CHERRY TREES. (LAPIN variety only available) They will be $50 each. We will be notifying a date for availability here as soon as we know a date. Please feel free to DM to pre order.

2nd May. Chilly morning turned into another Glorious AUTUMNs day! Figs have loved this weather. We have been very busy with the FIG Harvest this last few weeks. We will have JUJUBES freshly picked from our farm from tomorrow onwards until sold out $20/kilo. We will also have Figs available. Pick up between 1-4pm daily.

JUJUBES are Similar to an olive or small date in size, jujube fruit has the texture and crisp, bright flavor of an apple. While fresh jujubes have flesh that tastes similar to an apple, dried jujube tastes much sweeter, similar to dates, and has an impressive nutritional profile.

AND SO THE TRANSFORMATION BEGINS:

After growing cherries for 55 years here on the farm – and having another very challenging cherry season just gone, we made a very big life changing decision – that 2023 would be our last cherry season FOREVER – This last week has been filled with many mixed emotions as we start the transformation – plucking out each cherry tree - one by one. We have put our heart and souls into growing top quality fruit, and take great pride in what we do and have done for all these years, tho we are able to grow sensational cherries, at the end of the day it’s ‘mother nature’ and all her elements that have been against us – especially this last seven years.
We will continue to farm our delicious FIGS, finger limes and jujubes. We will look forward to more free time to do what we love and be able to celebrate CHRISTMAS/FESTIVE SEASON hereon in without all the angst and what cherry seasons have thrown our way for all these years!!! Sad and happy to say goodbye to cherry farming, but happy to welcome more time to enjoy life and learn to relax a little more!

Here's an update on the situation here at THE CHERRY BOYS

To all our valued customers, due to the rain last week, there has been an excessive amount of damage done to our cherry crop for this season – so we will not be harvesting the fruit due to it not being cost efficient – however – there is still good fruit on the trees and so we are going to trial ‘YOU PICK’ for this season to try and recoup some of the expenses that we have outlaid. If you are interested in picking some fruit for yourself we will charge an entry fee and a price per kilo – yet to be determined. We will keep you posted weather permitting, we should have enough ripe fruit to begin ‘YOU PICK’ next week. Please note we will post costings and an opening date once we get thru this coming weekend. Thank you for your patience.
