Day one at Equitana done and the bags have come back with plenty of stuff for work. Great day catching up with friends, colleagues and clients. We are looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings.

We have seen numerous cases of laminitis this season. From acute cases being managed and back on the road to recovery to chronic and extreme cases not having a happy outcome.

Laminitis is the second biggest killer after colic and is nothing to ignore. It is a serious condition that requires swift and thorough action from your horse's professional team and follow up for many months to come.

We do our best from a farriery perspective but without owner diligence, cases can turn from subtle to severe incredibly fast.

Please have your horse's management as strict and as functional as possible. Help us to reduce the risk and severity of Laminitis. It is crippling for them and distressing for owners and all involved. All breeds can be affected, not just ponies.
