A bit more excitement than we needed yesterday but it was amazing to watch the helicopters (3!) flying low and filling up from our dam. Fire trucks from all the local communities on the job too. Very reassuring to see the fire contained within a few hours in such a tricky spot!

The camp aims to nurture and improve the skills of all competitors to grow their confidence in the cattle industry. The camp builds lifelong friendships and it is very important for the industry to support the next generation.

Somewhere in the chaos of the last month we also had the Myrtleford Show which was the most amazing little local show experience. Thanks, as always, to the awesome team who made the day what it was ❤️
Special thanks to Matilda Sullivan for volunteering her help and experience in organising things and from Owen to Jessica Berg and Ashlee Joyce for such a fun day out and about!

Ok so I know they aren’t Dexters but to have a Cow and Calf Together dairy just up the road is an amazing and beautiful thing. And you can’t beat farmers markets for a nice morning out ❤️

It's market time. I was talking about farmers markets during an interview this week with the wonderful Nic Healy on ABC radio. While cost of living is really hitting everyone right now, it's a great time to visit a farmers market. If you've never been before or you've lapsed - now is the time to connect.
I say this a lot because I really believe everyone can benefit from carving 1 hour out of their weekend to shop. It's a great experience both mentally and physically. Talking to all of us who collect or make the produce for you. Instead of cold and soulless supermarkets I guarantee you will have a laugh, hear something you didn't know about farming and walk away with a smile. And it's great for the kids. I love my regulars who have kids with the most amazing palates - some chow down on the blue cheese! Others prefer a strong washed rind. Amazing!
Thanks to all of you for introducing your kids to a better future. Give it a go. We are spread out this weekend, so there must be one close enough to you.

A huge thankyou to the team for the beautiful preparation and presentation of Midge and Miffy at the Albury Show and our Dexter Feature Show. They did such a good job that Midge even came second in her Beef Section Class against some very nice large breed cows!

DEXTER FEATURE SHOW

This Saturday at the Albury Show there will be a wonderful showing of Dexter Cattle from local studs and schools- all vying for that Supreme Dexter Exhibit Ribbon!

The Dexter Feature Classes are planned to start after the All-Breeds Section which should be finishing just before lunchtime.

We hope to see you there!
