ANKC Registered Great Dane Breeder
We are a small country Kennel located in the beautiful sleepy town of Porepunkah in North East Victoria. Our aim is to provide well natured and well built Great Danes who are raised in a family environment so that they can truly become a member of your family. We do this by adopting a unique approach to their upbringing which assures that the puppies are better equipt to deal with the sights and sounds of everyday life. We pride ourselves on providing excellent natures Great Danes for both family pets and as service dogs. I am a mother to two beautiful boys and of corse I have my great Dane fur babies. I grew up in the local area and have lived here the majority of my life apart from when I have moved away to study at University , I hold a degree in Biotechnology and cell biology (Genetics) and I am currently studying a bachelor of Veterinary Technology , My peak interest is around the role that genetics play in Dane Health.
I first began breeding great Danes in 2012 after the devastating loss of my dane 'Zeus' Unfortunately, I was young and fell for the trap of 'saving' Zeus from a backyard breeder, He wasn't vaccinated, and I doubt that his litter was planned, Zeus's parents were not health tested or screened for any risk factors. Zeus was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Lymphoma at a year and a half old, despite proceeding with chemotherapy Zeus died only weeks shy of his second birthday. I was not only left broke from the cost of the chemotherapy but as anyone who has owned a Dane would know, they leave a huge hole in your heart when they go. The loss of Zeus motivated me to do something about the genetic issues in Great Danes and so I became a breeder myself. I never wanted another family to go through what we went through losing our boy. Armed with the knowledge obtained from my degree in Genetics I set out to make Australian Great Danes more sound in health. To this day this is still the motivation behind each and every litter that I breed, and this is why we do everything we can to make sure that we breed the best Danes.
