The Laughing Kookaburra is a native bird to eastern Australia, and makes a very familiar call sounding like voracious laughter.

Their call is used to establish territory among family groups, most often at dawn and dusk.

Whilst we don't usually receive samples for our native kookaburra, we appreciate their place in our lives and ears.

We are lucky to have so many beautiful birds in Australia.

Galahs are one of Australia’s favourite birds. You can see Galahs in almost any part of Australia.

Some facts you may not know about our native Galah:

Galahs can flock with up to around 1000 of their friends.

Fly at speeds of up to 70km per hour.

Galahs mate with their partners for life, and spend around three years raising their offspring.

We have been receiving samples hand over foot for our new avian DNA health tests.

We introduced DNA testing for seven common diseases in birds, meaning we can now tell you if a bird has contracted any of these ailments using a simple DNA sample.

Birds can get sick just like the rest of us. Thankfully DNA Solutions offers testing for many common bird sicknesses.
