PARVOVIRUS SPIKE 🚨

Over the past month we have seen a spike in the number of parvovirus cases, especially in Nyngan. We cannot stress enough how important it is to vaccinate your dogs to keep them protected - this includes both puppies and adults.

One of our Nyngan veterinary nurses will be starting a Puppy Pre-School in the upcoming months hosted at our Nyngan clinic.

Here is some information about the training course but if you would like more information head into the Nyngan branch or call the clinic on (02) 6832 1335 and the girls can answer any questions you have or sign you and your puppy up to the course!

One of our clients has a beautiful litter of Groodles! They are 8 weeks old and ready for their new homes!

Golden retriever x standard poodle 🐶 Groodles are intelligent dogs with a gentle and affectionate nature. They are fabulous family dogs but, like all dogs, still need regular exercise. As they are very intelligent they respond well to obedience training. They generally have a low shedding/no shedding coat which is a massive ✅

A reminder to come and get some tick prevention before heading away with your dog or cat especially if heading through the Blue Mountains or within a couple of hours of the coast! Paralysis ticks can be deadly and prevention is far better than cure.

Ticks are very good at hiding and incredibly small before they engorge so definitely don’t rely on finding them!

Mozzies alert!!! 🦟 Please call the clinic on 6847 4795 if you need mosquito protection for your dogs, we have had dogs dying in the district from heavy mosquito burdens. Products are tight in supply and we’re doing another order tomorrow so please let us know if you need some. We want to make sure we have enough to go round!

We run a very sensitive test in house to detect Parvovirus infection. We often get asked whether we can vaccinate the dog once we’ve diagnosed it, unfortunately that won’t help at all. Just like old COVID, the vaccination is to help prevent infection not to treat it. Please book in if you haven’t got your new pup vaccinated or if your adult dog is overdue. Hey guys! Parvo outbreak in Warren has begun 🐶☠️ 🤒 This rain is bringing it out of the ground. Puppies should have their first vaccination at 6 weeks of age, then every 2 weeks until they are 12 weeks old. It takes up to 2 weeks after the last vaccination before the dog will have immunity. Adult dogs that are unvaccinated are also not protected, those who have not had a vaccination in the last year may also be at risk. Please call to book in if your dog is unvaccinated or overdue 02 6847 4795 in Warren.
