It's been a challenging week this week, first the Melbourne trip which was awesome but exhausting at the same time then my poor Betty (dachshund) jumped of the couch, (yes she has a ramp) and now has IVDD 😭 she is being treated by Dr Emily at Warwick Vets our next step is surgery, so if any one is after a kidney, arm or a leg, please PM me 😅

Please please keep your dogs safe tonight! Please 🥺❤️ I hate fireworks they are a nightmare for all animals 🥺

💔 NYE IS THE WORST NIGHT FOR ANIMALS 💔

Hey everyone,

As we get ready to ring in the new year, a reminder that tomorrow is one of the worst days for animals all over Australia.

Fireworks are TERRIFYING for our pets, especially for dogs and cats, whose hearing is so much more sensitive than ours.

There most likely will be trial fireworks around Australia today, plenty of people are illegally doing it and will run a test to ensure all goes well for tomorrow night.

The sudden loud noise of fireworks will send dogs and cats into panic, and sadly, it’s common for pets to run off and get hurt trying to escape the noise. Countless dogs and cats die on new years getting run over etc.

Here are a few things you can do to help your furry friends stay safe and calm:

1. Keep them indoors: Close windows and doors to keep the noise out. I don’t see why any pet should to outdoor on New Year’s Eve, make room for them, a small corner inside with their bed somewhere in the house is better than them being in the yard terrified at risk of running off and dying. They are apart of your family so please make sure they are inside.

2. Secure them: Make sure your pets can’t dart out if they get scared. Don’t leave doors open. Don’t let them out on their own.

3. Distract and comfort them: Put on some calming music, turn on a fan, or use a white noise
machine to mask the sounds. Offer them frozen treats or a stuffed Kong to keep their minds busy.

4. Stay with them: If you can, just be there for them. Your presence can be really comforting during stressful moments.

PLEASE be extra mindful of our pets tomorrow night and make sure they’re as safe and calm as possible.
