Brent's had a great run on building the new macaw breeding aviary over the past week, thanks to many helping hands (Brent's Dad, our son Jaymin Rubie and son-in-law Oscar Van Dijk) during some sweltering 35 degree days! 🥵 Most of the ceiling weldmesh is on and a few sides are up! It was a mission to get the heavy weldmesh sheets up 4m high and into a gap of less than 1m under the roof, but a tractor with forks attached and some storm pipes used to roll the weldmesh along did the trick!! Still loads to do, but it's starting to take shape nicely!
We can't thank the beaut men in our family enough for all their help and hard work so far 🥰

S***fy and Bird are such cute little muppets 💙💛 💛💛
They've nearly outgrown their tub, so their next move will be into a large indoor cage in the nursery where they'll enjoy the extra room to explore and flap those big little wings! 😁 They love giving their vocal cords a good work out now too 📣 and would rather nibble on fruit and veg 🍊🍌🥕 than have their full quota of formula at this age...but their appetite for formula will come back again soon 😉

All the steel framework (apart from doors) for the new macaw breeding aviary complex (bank of 8 flights) is done 🎉
All the weld mesh and colourbond corrugated iron sheets are ordered ✅️
Brent is doing a wonderful job with this massive build! ❤️
