Puppy Care Starts with Worming! 🐶

Bringing home a new puppy is exciting, but keeping them healthy takes a little planning. One essential step? Regular worming.

✔ Start at two weeks old and continue fortnightly until 12 weeks.
✔ From 12 weeks to six months, worm monthly.
✔ After six months, worm every three months to keep them protected.

A simple routine now means a healthier, happier pup in the long run. Need help setting up a schedule? Call us on (07) 4661 1105 or book online: https://loom.ly/EDsq14Q

When the flying foxes are visible in the evening sky, it’s time to make sure your horses (and humans) are protected from Hendra Virus! 🐎💉

Under a vaccination schedule, healthy horses can be vaccinated from 4 months of age, with a second injection at 3 to 6 weeks, a booster at 6 months, and an annual booster thereafter.

Feeding Your Feathered Friend Right! 🦜

Many pet birds are picky eaters, choosing only their favourite seeds while missing out on essential nutrients. This can lead to health issues like vitamin A deficiency, calcium imbalance, and even obesity.

A balanced pelleted diet ensures they get all the nutrients they need to stay healthy and thrive. If you're unsure about your bird’s diet, we’re here to help!

Autumn’s here, and so are the worms! 🍂🐴

As the weather cools, worms become more active in the soil, increasing the risk of infection in your horses. A faecal worm egg count is the best way to assess their worm burden and determine the most effective de-worming plan. Stay ahead of the problem—book a consultation with our experienced equine vets today!

🍫 Human eats = toxic treats 🚫

They might be delicious for those of us with two legs, but remember to keep your pets safe from these common household foods!

❌ Chocolate: Toxic to dogs and cats, even in small amounts.
❌ Grapes & raisins: Can cause kidney failure in dogs.
❌ Onions & garlic: Dangerous to pets, damaging red blood cells.
❌ Avocado: Harmful for birds, rabbits, and some other animals.
❌ Xylitol: Found in sugar-free gum and snacks—it’s highly toxic to pets.

If your pet gets into any of these, call us immediately at (07) 4661 1105 or head to the nearest vet clinic. Stay safe and keep those treats out of reach!
