One of the reasons I love Paracord is because it is just so hard wearing! Dirt, dust, mud and water are no issues here!
My dogs are TOUGH on their collars. They go out in the back paddock and roll in the dust and dirt and rarely stay clean longer than a day 🙄 I generally don't keep collars on them unless we have visitors over or are out walking. Mainly due to safety but also because over the years I got so sick of replacing trashed collars all the time. But I hadn't tested my own collars yet.
So this time I decided to leave one of my own creations on a while and see how well it would hold up to the shenanigans.
This is Ellies Paracord collar. The top photos are before a wash and the bottom photos are after.
I recommend to my customers to wash with mild detergent in cold water in a delicates bag straight in the machine. This is mainly because I can't test and try every type of laundry liquid and stain remover available to see how it will work with the paracord both initially and over a period of time.
My own collars however I used Aldis Di-San Pro stain remover spray (sprayed on 10 mins before washing) , Almat laundry liquid and the Di-San Laundry sanitiser in the rinse tray of the machine. It came up a treat. How well the paracord would fair using these chemicals over an extended period is yet to be seen though.
They came up really well, all ready for the feral to do it again next time 😆😂
Photo of said feral attached because she is cute and her Dobe sister is included... Well because she always has to be included 😆
