E.L.Freeman is a small leather goods maker based near Wauchope NSW. Everything produced is designed and hand crafted in our workshop.

We use quality leathers and materials which are combined with traditional techniques and attention to detail to create pieces that are unique and have a timeless elegance - pieces which are made to last. We produce a standard line of quality products and offer custom made to order and repairs to leather goods.

A lovely order of leather dog collars and leads

Made from our full grain saddle leather with solid brass or stainless steel hardware and heavy duty copper rivets, these wear so well and are really designed for harsh conditions and the town pooch alike. Our pup has been wearing her current collar for the past 9 years, and it's still going strong!

Hobble belts are always lovely to make. It must be the beautiful leather against the hardware that sets it apart, as there's just something about them that always makes me happy to make them.

We make these to be used as a hobble belt was designed to be used for - hobbling stock when out in the bush with nowhere to tie or pen them. But they also make a great statement belt with the rings and large buckle to set them apart.
We've had some lovely ladies purchase these belts to wear with their winter and autumn dresses and outfits recently, and in the past, and how wonderful they would look with it.

One of our In Hand Bridle in Dark Brown with stainless steel hardware and rosettes for a heavy horse - such a lovely bridle for showing in!

We've been flat strap catching up after our week away in Bendigo for Lost Trades fair but the workshop is nearly back to ship shape. Looking forward to making more of these bridles in the next few weeks for orders.

One week to go until the marvellous Lost Trades Fair!

We for one are very excited and have been busy making our beautiful saddlery and leather goods in preparation - belts, bags, bridles, reins, more belts and so much more.

We've also been fine tuning our demo's for the fair. I mean, we have lots of practice making the pieces - that bits fine - but talking it all through, well, the dog has been a great listener.

Reading and writing is one of the great pleasures in life, and having a beautiful leather bookmark to use just makes it that little extra special.

There's something simply lovely about a real leather bag. When I make these, it's always a pleasure. They're a beautiful piece that I know will get many years of use. The feel and smell of the leather, the fact they'll wear well and only get better with age. It's nice to know and such a privilege to be able to make such lovely pieces.

These bridles are always a pleasure to make and the tied design on the browband really adds that extra something special to them.

There's been a real assorted collection of what we've been making the past few weeks - belts, bridles, halters, diary covers and more. These lovely Oxley belts have been heading out quite a bit, being a real standout, as well as our Diary Covers ready for the year ahead.

It's been a busy start to the new year, and we're set for another busy year ahead - a few new pieces in the works that we hope to share soon and some new leathers on the way - always exciting!

Santa's New Belt 🎅🎄🦌
There was not much time until Christmas, when Santa emailed to say,
'I'm in need of a new belt, could I order one, without delay?
The elves are all but busy, and well, you're an ELF as well,
Christmas will be upon us, could you help? It would be swell'

Of course I could dear Santa, what did you have in mind?
We've lots of different leathers, I'll see what I can find'....
...or it went something like that.

And so I made a beautiful, rather fancy belt for Santa,
To hold up his new pants, when the reindeers broke into a canter.
With gold and red and cutouts, stitching, patent leather, a touch of glue.
Oh it looked magnificent, and Santa thought so too!

So when you hear a jingle, out on Christmas night,
perhaps it will be Santa, with his brand new, ELF made belt in flight.

For those of you with kids, you might recognise the story style (little yellow digger) My son who is 3 (and loves this certain Christmas book), was thrilled when I told him I had to make a belt for Santa, absolutely thrilled =) Just like Santa was.

Our 12th and final Christmas Gift Idea - a small piece, that's not much in price, but oh so handy. Our stamped leather keyrings.
Made from our small leather pieces, these keyrings can be stamped with a name or initials. Great for putting on the keys so you know which key is who's or what it's for. Also great for business' with multiple keys for certain areas or codes as we can stamp letters and numbers.

Our 11th day of Christmas gift idea - our leather belt straps and fancy or western buckles.
Made from our Hastings and Macquarie belt leather, these belts allow the user to change the decorative buckle to suit their needs or outfit via the snaps that secure the buckle onto the belt.
With so many buckles to choose from, it can be hard at times to pick just one or two!

Our 10th day of Christmas gift idea - a new halter and lead for your horses!
Available in sizes Pony, Cob, Full and Draught with 2m, 3m and longer leads to order.

As with many traditional type saddlery and leatherworkers, I also make rope products in our saddlery range. Everything is handmade by us using quality double braid rope including yachting rope in 8mm and 12mm and poly rope. We make Rope Horse Halters, Horse Lead Ropes with a correctly made loop piece to secure to the halter, Rope Reins and also Cattle Halters and Rope Long Reins.

It's been a busy week. Lots made and posted with our wonderful posties.

Our 7th Day of Christmas gift ideas piece, is our simple Hastings and Macquarie belts.
For those after an everyday belt for the office, work and heading to town, these are a great belt available in 1 1/4 or 1 1/2". That's 32mm (business/suit pants belt) and 38mm (jeans width belt). For women or men, we also make a kids version of this belt. Four colour choices. Brass or Nickel plated solid brass buckle. They'll last for years.
