E.L.Freeman is a small leather goods maker based near Wauchope NSW. Everything produced is designed and hand crafted in our workshop.

Santa's New Belt 🎅🎄🦌
There was not much time until Christmas, when Santa emailed to say,
'I'm in need of a new belt, could I order one, without delay?
The elves are all but busy, and well, you're an ELF as well,
Christmas will be upon us, could you help? It would be swell'

Of course I could dear Santa, what did you have in mind?
We've lots of different leathers, I'll see what I can find'....
...or it went something like that.

And so I made a beautiful, rather fancy belt for Santa,
To hold up his new pants, when the reindeers broke into a canter.
With gold and red and cutouts, stitching, patent leather, a touch of glue.
Oh it looked magnificent, and Santa thought so too!

So when you hear a jingle, out on Christmas night,
perhaps it will be Santa, with his brand new, ELF made belt in flight.

For those of you with kids, you might recognise the story style (little yellow digger) My son who is 3 (and loves this certain Christmas book), was thrilled when I told him I had to make a belt for Santa, absolutely thrilled =) Just like Santa was.

Made from our small leather pieces, these keyrings can be stamped with a name or initials. Great for putting on the keys so you know which key is who's or what it's for. Also great for business' with multiple keys for certain areas or codes as we can stamp letters and numbers.

Made from our Hastings and Macquarie belt leather, these belts allow the user to change the decorative buckle to suit their needs or outfit via the snaps that secure the buckle onto the belt.
With so many buckles to choose from, it can be hard at times to pick just one or two!

As with many traditional type saddlery and leatherworkers, I also make rope products in our saddlery range. Everything is handmade by us using quality double braid rope including yachting rope in 8mm and 12mm and poly rope. We make Rope Horse Halters, Horse Lead Ropes with a correctly made loop piece to secure to the halter, Rope Reins and also Cattle Halters and Rope Long Reins.

It's been a busy week. Lots made and posted with our wonderful posties.

Our 7th Day of Christmas gift ideas piece, is our simple Hastings and Macquarie belts.
For those after an everyday belt for the office, work and heading to town, these are a great belt available in 1 1/4 or 1 1/2". That's 32mm (business/suit pants belt) and 38mm (jeans width belt). For women or men, we also make a kids version of this belt. Four colour choices. Brass or Nickel plated solid brass buckle. They'll last for years.

A beautiful handmade leather bridle - Our 5th day of Christmas gift idea. As much for the rider as it is for the horse, a lovely gift to give or receive.

I make quite a range of different styles of bridles including traditional barcoo style, sliding brow, western styles and one's to fit the gentle giants of the horse world - draught horses.

Handmade with solid brass or stainless hardware and quality bridle leather, they are a piece that receives wonderful feedback from our customers and I get a wow moment from each one I make every time, they are really lovely if I can say so.

On our fourth day of Christmas, we nearly forgot what we needed to do for the day it was so busy. Except then I found my diary and notebook in it's lovely personalised A4 Fine Leather diary cover, and there it was, tell you all about our lovely leather Diary and Notebook Covers.

I like to think a bit humour at this time of year is much needed, and this did actually happen to me this morning, the list is long, but there is still time.

Our beautiful A4 and A5 leather covers are, well, very nice. They feel nice, they smell nice, they look nice. One customer called them stunningly beautiful. And with our lovely letter stamps to personalise them, they look even prettier. Pop online to view and place an order before we run out of leather (thankyou Noel, we received the order). FYI - the Tan is beautiful atm, so glossy and smooth, it's stunning.

On the 3rd day of Christmas I gave my puppy dog....a beautiful new Leather Dog Collar and Leather Dog Lead, some treats, a new tennis ball and a Tug of War toy!

While I don't stock dog treats or tennis balls (my dog does steal the redhide offcuts and loves to eat them though...) we make some excellent, Millie the Kelpie approved, tug of war and chew toys. Made by hand on our rope making machine (yep), these are sturdy and well made, lasting much longer than the cheapo one's available in certain stores. Millie loves hers and hasn't had a new one for a few years now as it's lasted so well.

For those that don't have a pooch, just for fun, we also make Cat Toys from the fabric offcuts =) Zero waste where possible. Oh, and we make brilliant soft webbing dog leads too.

Our 3rd gift idea for our 12 days of Christmas. So far, Dad has a new belt, everyone a new keyring, pooch is happy, hmmm...what next!

It's been a stinker of a day in the workshop with the cicadas going non stop in the bush behind - they are deafening this year - but I've carried on thanks to our aircon consisting of a decent breeze running through to keep things cool and the ceiling fan (luxury in a tin shed).
Todays workbench was filled with diary cover orders, tote bags and a number of belts and smalls to make, keeping things busy.

These belts of late have been really popular - a really special belt with that unique difference of engraved hardware and lovely leather stamping and shaping.

The beautiful smell of the leathers I use in these bags is wonderful and they feel so soft and buttery, it's hard to part with them once they're finished at times.
Knowing that our beautiful leather Tote Bags are always so well received by our customers certainly helps, and to see them out and about in use is always a thrill.
For those of you looking to spoil your wife or partner this Christmas, this is certainly a lovely way to do so. With a wide range of colours to select from and options for handle colours, there's something there for everyone.
