*Rehoming* Please contact me (Hannah) via message for an application form if interested.
These boys are up to date with their annual health check and been screened for Psittacosis. Here is a little bit about them from their owner:
Introducing Rowdy and Coco, a bonded pair of male pineapple Green Cheek Conures. These are lovely little birds, very affectionate and friendly once they get to know you. They are about three years old and have been kept together since they were babies. They need to be kept together as they are bonded.
They’re not too noisy for conures, just when they want to come out of the cage! I have always let them out whenever I am at home (and not cooking or eating). They are fully flighted and have never had their wings clipped. I would prefer them to go to a home that will keep them this way and let them out of the cage whenever possible.
They eat Nutri Blend Mini Pellets and chop, which consists of carrot, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, capsicum and zucchini, with just a small amount of apple in it. They love strawberries and raspberries for treats a couple of days a week and will do anything for a sunflower seed!
Personality-wise, they both want to be on you all the time. Coco is very cuddly and loves a cuddle in the morning. He is very curious, and I would say it’s important to keep pegs on any cage openings you have, as he is an escape artist. Rowdy (the boy with more red on his chest) is more independent and loves a bath in the mornings. He will come for a cuddle if Coco is being cuddled and is very food motivated. They both talk quite a bit, saying hello baby, what you doing and what is it amongst other things. If they are being noisy, one of them will say stop it!
I am only seeking to rehome them as I have taken on a dog from my old aunty that is absolutely intent on eating them! I don’t feel as though I can keep them safe out of the cage for longer than 10 minutes at a time, which is not fair to little birds who are used to being out of the cage and doing things with me all the time. It’s just not working for any of us, and the dog has already had Coco in her mouth. Fortunately, Coco was not injured at all, but it scared and upset me a lot. Unfortunately, I am unable to rehome the dog as I take her to visit my aunty in her nursing home.
The boys come with their large cage, all their forage toys, food and water containers, a training stand and a large wooden activity stand. You would need a ute or big four wheel drive to pick the cage up, as it has been welded to the base by a previous owner. The cage and all their gear will need to be picked up from Stones Corner, the boys are currently with Hannah at Wamuran.
I will miss these gorgeous boys terribly! If you are interested in these beautiful little birds, please contact Hannah. Thank you!
