Finally got a gold girl from Shadow to Caramello (named her Pumpkin), has 2 sisters. Camellia has the 1. Have 5 pups in with Honeydew and Dahlia. Thelma or Louise died with pups stuck the other day (can’t tell the 2 apart have to go back to see which one, pretty sure Bill was the dad) have put the 2 live ones in with Shadow and Camellia.

Zelda had 3 kits to Frosty.
Summer had 1 kit to Digger (was in litter tray cold so is in with Zelda’s now, have removed nest box as Xena dug them out last time) is bruised so not sure how it will go.

Camellia had 4 pups to Simon. 1 she overcleaned and it died, 1 was stillborn. Other 1 today not well had some wombaroo but is very weak. I would say it won’t make it through the night. Other 1 is lively.

Shadow, Honeydew and Dahlia are expecting soon.

Have some rabbits due this week, hopefully they didn’t all miss again 🤞

Myxomatosis reported in WA, Vic and SA already

Myxomatosis is currently active Perth and elsewhere in the state.
This is a fatal virus for rabbits, and we have no vaccine for it in Australia.
You can minimise risk by doing the following to control mosquitoes and other biting insects-

🪣 Clean gutters, inspect ponds and water tanks, empty containers and pots collecting water around the home- stagnant water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

🌿 Plant insect repelling plants around the home- Basil, lavendar, rosemary, citronella and lemon balm are all good choices.

🚪 Keep some F10 veterinary disinfectant by the door to spray with when you’ve been somewhere wild rabbits live (any bushland, including coastal).

👟 Take your shoes off outside, or spray with F10.

🪟 Replace damaged flyscreens or repair small holes- sticky patches are inexpensive and available from Bunnings.

🐇 House rabbits indoors preferably, if your rabbits must be outside their enclosure should be insect-proof.

🐰 New rabbits coming into the home must be quarantined for 10-14 days.

I usually don’t do preventative treatments but I had a few weeks off of work so rabbits all got Fenbender (fenbendazole) for 10 days (EC preventative, they aren’t sure if it helps or not)
and 2 treatments of mectec (ivermectin) some had fur mites so did all of them.
Now getting grapefruit seed extract in water for 2 weeks then will give apple cider vinegar in water for 2 weeks after that. Hopefully will get some breed after or will give the does Vitex. Tried mating some yesterday hopefully Jewel to Cole took, other does still not interested 🤷‍♀️.

Giving Harrison some grape seed extract as he gets a sort of cough (not sure how to discribe it) at night with no nasal discharge. Colloidal silver and olive leaf extract were no help and horseradish has just started reshooting. Got Echinacea and oregano if it doesn’t help to try. Grape seed said to work on pasturella in a study. He is still bounding around like nothing is wrong. No idea if just dust or allergies, but hopefully I will find something to help him.

Looks like all the others I mated missed again 😔

Maple, Peaches, Lamington, Willow and Sundae are due later this month, bought inside due to storm.

1 of Cocoa’s rews may have entropion (inward eye lid) never had it before if so will be pts. Eye drops (CS) not helping, eyes are both stuck shut and not a very big slit/opening for eyes either.
Lost Pippa’s runt, her fawn is very small.

Leila had 2 lilacs to Hugo, will be staying (1 satin)
Lilah had 1 pup to Alvin
Holly had 3 satin pups (like her) to Chase

1 of Pippa’s may be fawn, other 2 pink.
Cocoa has 4 pink and 1 looks poss sable marten/black fox.
