So what's our secret to making nests that even ants themselves love? 🐜 Our most popular nests are made of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) which, sure enough, is also known as 'Ytong'.

Ytong is the perfect material to manufacture specialised ant farms from, as it's very durable and contains minerals such as sand, cement and lime. What's so great about Ytong is that it replicates the minerals found in an ant's natural environment 🌏 More good news? AAC is non toxic, mould resistant, sustainable and a great thermal insulator.

At Aus Ants, we've put in all of our knowledge and experience from our own ant keeping journey into developing our Ytong nests to be the best that they can be. We've tested hundreds of nests so we're confident that each feature of the nest has been considerably developed and made "to perfection".

After what feels like a lifetime... we're back! 🐜 As we post this, we're finally busy on production for our exciting 2021 range, getting loads of stock ready to go - to see the year out with a bang!

No word of a lie, it's been a tough year. After many slow months being shut down due to the situation with lockdowns in Melbourne making it too tricky to run production, we've finally got everything from our brand new 2021 to our latest Acrylic Nests happening.

We're so excited to back, tell us what you've been up to in your journey this year, wherever you are in the world!

Screw cap connectors are coming soon. These will fit on every single acrylic next we have ever made. So they will even fit onto the first generation nest that had those tricky acrylic connectors.

A few other changes will be happening soon! Like color options, added nest steps, replacement lids, hydration expansions, new replacement ytong range and many more accessories! Stay tuned for more.
