K9 Nosework is a relatively new sport/ activity designed for companion dogs. The sport originated in America and was influenced by working detection dogs.
K9 Nosework is suitable for all dogs regardless of breed, age, fitness or disabilities. Dogs are worked one at a time so it is suitable for reactive or anxious dogs.
The main focus for K9 Nosework classes is to always be fun for dogs and handlers.
Foundation skills are taught by setting up puzzles/ games for dogs and guiding handlers to interpret their dogs behaviour and in turn develop as a team.
Dogs can participate in this sport just for fun, therapy or you can compete in trials. Either way the dogs are being celebrated for being dogs!
