WEDNESDAY TRAINING. Tomorrow will be a mostly sunny day, with a 22 degree maximum, which I've read will be a record for 24 July. The morning will be windy but this should abate in the early afternoon. There's a possibility of rain but hopefully overnight. Classes start punctually at 5.00pm. We hope to see all you Wednesday clubbers there. Below are a few pics taken on sunny Sunday of Classes 4 (top) & 3. Beginners, Classes 1-2 trainers this will be you one day!

A SUNNY SUNDAY IS ON THE WAY. A sunny day with a maximum of 19 is predicted for tomorrow with only a 5% chance of rain. Fingers crossed. CLASSES will run as usual with our Class 4 graduates at 9.00am and all other classes at 10.00am. With a warmer & rain free day the Agility class is sure to run at 11.00am. The. CANTEEN will be open selling hot & cold DRINKS and FOOD. Thanks to Siegi who made & donated yummy Pumpkin Soup last week. Helen will have Potato, Leek & Bacon Soup for sale tomorrow. REMINDER to check the Dog clothing & equipment trading table tomorrow. Feel free to leave things you no longer need & take anything which you may need. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY TRAINING. Another cold day is expected tomorrow with a low maximum of 14. Rain between 2-4mm is expected but Mr/Ms Google suggests that this will be mostly in the morning. Fingers crossed. Let's hope we have a partly cloudy afternoon but with mostly sunshine. If the rain does continue throughout the afternoon it will.pay to watch this space for any decision made about whether training will go ahead. Otherwise training will commence punctually at 5.00pm. If your dog has graduated recently please check with the Registration desk to pick up your certificate. See you soon.

LET'S HOPE SUNDAY TRAINING IS SUNNY. Tomorrow will be cold with a maximum of 15, but with a low chance of rain and with the sun making an appearance about 7.30am. CLASSES: 9.00am Class 4, 10.00am: Beginners, Classes 1-3. 11.00am Agility is weather dependent so will be decided tomorrow. All dogs are welcome to participate in Agility. CANTEEN will be open for hot chips, bacon & egg rolls & hot dogs. HOMEMADE SOUP is also on the menu this winter, starting tomorrow! Yum! Looking forward to seeing you all with your gorgeous pooches.

Yeltana Dog Therapy Visit A Success. Six members of the SGODC Dog Therapy Team ventured out on a thankfully sunny day to bring joy to the residents, and staff, at Yeltana Nursing Home. This year we have welcomed 4 new members to our team. One is Cherilee & Calvin, the latter however, has been abandoned by his mother who has taken off on a Wine Tour in Adelaide. Enjoy Cherilee! Our other 3 new members were all in attendance (front row of pic from left) Kerryann with Ruby, Amy with Winston (perhaps a white jacket on Winston in the next photo Amy) & Rebecca with Bella. Our 'old' hands were still with us (from left) Graham with Lucy, Lyn with Winston & Helen with Tessa. Another very old hand, Helen & Sheldon were an apology today as Sheldon is one week into a six week recovery period from cruciate ligament surgery. Helen is doing a Cherilee, with a Wine Tour around the kitchen & lounge room, trying to maintain sanity for the five weeks to come! Visitors are welcome! Huge thanks to those who brought happiness to the residents today & to Michelle & the staff who make it possible. 😍😍😍

WEDNESDAY TRAINING LOOKING GOOD. After a near washout on Sunday, where 13 members came out to brave the cold & wet, tomorrow is looking promising.There is a chance of rain most likely at night though. Otherwise a sunny day with a maximum of 18 is expected. Classes will start punctually at 5.00pm. If you are registering for the first time please arrive by 4.45pm. SUNDAY TRAINING POSSIBLY IN DOUBT. The BOM is predicting a cold & wet day tomorrow with a high chance of between 3 and 10mm of rain, most likely in the morning. When it comes to rain, unlike our Hot Weather Policy which is determined the evening before, we must wait until the actual day to call it. If training goes ahead classes will be at the usual times with Class 4 at 9.00am & all others at 10.00am. Dressing both you & your dog for the weather is advised. PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE FOR INFORMATION ABOUT WHETHER TRAINING WILL GO AHEAD.

WEDNESDAY TRAINING IS ON. It will be a cold day tomorrow with another 13 degree max with around 10 degrees while we are training. But no rain is predicted. So rug up! Classes start promptly at 5.00pm. We will need to keep a look out for SUNDAY'S WEATHER with between 3-9mm rain predicted in the morning. See you Wednesday clubbers tomorrow.

SUNDAY TRAINING. After getting washed out at the Dog Park this afternoon, I was not optimistic about good weather for training tomorrow. Silly me! BOM reassures me that the day will only be partly cloudy (so mostly sunny?) & there is a high chance of no rain. However, it will be COLD. The maximum temps for the next week will only reach 13 or 14. CLASS 4 will run at 9.00am, All others at 10.00am. AGILITY will depend on availability of Instructors. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

SUNDAY TRAINING IS ON. No rain predicted for tomorrow but you will need to dress warmly with temps between 6 and 13 degrees during the times we will be training. The lawn will be wet so waterproof shoes & a jacket for your dog may be advisable. CLASSES are at their usual times with Class 4 at 9.00am & Beginners, Classes 1-3 at 10.00am. Agility will be decided on tomorrow morning. ARE YOU FREE TONIGHT? If you are and want to have a great night with lots of laughs think about catching club members SHAUN DENNIS & JAMIE-LEE THOMAS in the Whyalla Players Musical, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, at The Middleback, at 7.30pm. A few of us saw it last night. It was great.

WEDNESDAY COOL & MAYBE WET WEATHER Tomorrow we can expect another cool training session around 15 degrees. A chance of thunderstorms is predicted for the late morning & a high chance of showers in the afternoon & evening. Unless you see an update in this space by 4.00pm, classes will be running. SUNDAY TRAINING. Tomorrow we can expect a cold day (16 degree max) but with light winds & hopefully no rain. Sadly Class 4 trainers will need to drag themselves out of bed for a 9.00am start [take note Christeen & Olive]. Beginners, Classes 1, 2 & 3 get an extra hours sleep in ready for their 10.00am start. Classes will finish a little early tomorrow so that certificates can be pubically presented to trainers & their pooches who have graduated over the past few weeks. Dog Therapy Visit to Copperhouse Court. This morning we conducted another successful dog therapy visit to Copperhouse Court which was highly appreciated by the staff & residents. Today we welcomed two new members to our team: Cherilee & Calvin. Thanks to their great contribution on their very first visit. Thanks also to the other members of the team: Helen with Sheldon, Kirsti with Simon, Graham with Lucy, Helen with Tessa & Pam with Sophie.

WEDNESDAY TRAINING IS ON. Another cold day tomorrow with a 16 degree max. The day will be sunny but cloudy when we train at 5.00pm until 5.30pm. Only a very slight chance of rain is expected. WINTER IS HERE: A COLD BUT SUNNY SUNDAY. With temps between 9 & 15 degrees, while we are training tomorrow, be advised to dress you & your pooches warmly. Rain is not expected but the grass may still be wet & cold (also deep these days). Class 4 participants, you poor early risers, train at 9.00am. Beginners, Classes 1, 2 & 3 at 10.00am. Agility will be decided on the day. A reminder to new members who have had their free lesson, to pay your fees at the Registration Desk on the verandah. Those registering tomorrow, arrive early, wear closed in shoes & have your dog's vaccination records in hand or on phone. A reminder that various items for dogs, no longer needed by their owners, have been donated to the club & are yours to take free of charge. There will be NO TRAINING NEXT SUNDAY, so we may see you next on Wednesday, 5th &/or 12th & Sunday, 16th. Stay warm.

WEDNESDAY TRAINING IS ON! Oops! I've been so busy & out of town & forgot to put the training post up last night. Sincere apologies. All classes commence this evening at 5.00pm until 5.30pm. Looks like there is a change coming in bringing some much needed rain with it, which will be welcome. Let's hope though that we escape that this afternoon. Hope to see you Wednesday clubbers there.

SUNNY SUNDAY WITH LIGHT WINDS. We can expect great conditions for training tomorrow with a maximum of 23 degrees. Classes are at their usual times with most members training from 10.00am until 10.45am. Agility will run at 11.00am. Remember that Agility is open to all dogs. NEW MEMBERS arrive with time to register, wear closed in shoes & bring your dog's vaccination records (hard copy or a pic on your phone). ALL MEMBERS: remember to pick up any receipts & graduation certificates. Amy Quist will be out on the grounds taking some photos too! See you soon.

Delightful Morning at Playgroup SA. This morning Graham with Lucy & Helen with Sheldon & with Pam's pooch, Sophie & Helen's pooch Tessa, "on loan" for the visit, spent a lovely morning at Playgroup SA, for a little dog therapy. What a great morning for the dogs, their handlers, the staff, and particularly the parents & their gorgeous kids. The parents commented that the therapy had benefited them as much as their children.Thanks for the invitation Fiona.

SUNDAY TRAINING SUNNY BUT COOL. We are looking at our first experience of 'winter' tomorrow. With a predicted max of only 16, we will have temps of between 12 & 15 during training. Dress warmly or at least in layers. All Classes at their usual times with Beginners, Classes 1-3 starting at 10.00am. NEW Members arrive earlier to register, wear closed in shoes & bring your dog's vax records in hard copy or on your phone. The CANTEEN can provide yummy, warm food - chips, egg & bacon rolls & hot dogs. Make the most of it. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Dog Therapy Visit to Yeltana. This morning six members of our Dog Therapy Team had another welcoming & successful visit to Yeltana. The residents engaged in individual conversations with each team member with pats & cuddles for their dog. This was followed by a new performance by Carol & Odin. Odin has been learning to dance to "I Had the Time of My Life" from the film "Dirty Dancing" familiar to many of us. Although Odin did have a little stage fright before his new audience, in Carol's capable hands (& legs), Odin did a good job. Helen & Tessa also entertained the group with a pirouet in her pink tutu. We concluded the morning with a brief demonstration of dog obedience by team members & their pooches: Carol with Odin, Rebecca with Bella, Pam with Sophie, Helen with Sheldon, Helen with Tessa & Graham with Lucy (I hope I've got it right this time Graham!) Thanks again for the welcome & appreciation from the staff & residents of Yeltana & especially to the SGODC dog therapy team.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY FUR (& HUMAN!) MUMS. When I checked the BOM before I composed this post I was surprised to read "chance of.morning FOG' followed by a sunny afternoon. Be prepared! CLASSES at the usual times: Class 4 at 9.00am & all others at 10.00am & Agility at 11.00am. NEWBYS please wear closed in shoes & bring your dog's vaccination records. Members who've had their first free lesson, please drop by the registration desk to pay your fees which have been discounted until the end of our financial year on 31 October. Thank you. A MOTHERS DAY CAKE (donated by club members) will be available for members on the verandah. Enjoy the day.
