Hello dear friends,

I have some sad news.

I have made the difficult decision to permanently close down Bone Appetit Barkery.

💔

It has been an incredible and unbelievable 6 years of growth, achievements and of ups and downs

BAB will be closing at the end of this financial year ( in 25 days ) I have tossed and turned about this for the last 12 months as new responsibilities have entered my life. It is a difficult decision to make, stockists and suppliers that are all small businesses, and customers that I feel like I am abandoning.

Many of which I have worked with closely over the years, developed great relationships with, that I never would of met if it wasn't for this little business I started back in 2018 solely because of a care about the treats that my dog was eating and the importance of local food sources.

"Should I do it at the end of winter instead so that it isn't as sudden"

but ultimately, the 30th June makes the most sense for me to close this chapter.

THE NEXT STEPS

I will continue making as many biscuit treats as possible with the ingredients I have already purchased (I have lots of liver treats in stock too) I will be going through and clearing out my freezer of left over ingredients and making the flavours I have access to. This means there will be treat flavours available that you will be able to grab 'out of season'

My packaged treats will comfortably last several months stored on a shelf (out of direct sunlight) if you wish to grab some

The website is currently closed until the 15th June to allow me to process my final wholesale orders and make fresh treats to get ready for the final goodbye sale.

After this I will be releasing all stock to the public as an EOFY/GOODBYE sale with heavy discounts to get as many BAB treats out there as possible for people to stock up!

So STAY TUNED for June 16th when the website reopens with some heavy discounts, maybe some mystery boxes depending on what treats I have left over.

Grocer, good food, good coffee, many local products and now DOG TREATS 😄

Since our departure from the last month is now stocking our range of dog treats in store for you to pick up next time you're in town (and avoid ordering online and paying shipping, win!) 😊

Currently they have in store a little bit of everything from our entire biscuit range in all flavours and sizes AND they also have in stock our Meaty Mix and Minty Chew-paca liver treats which were very popular at the farmers market for many pooches 🐶🐶

If you have never visited before it is a must, it is a beautiful local store, on their shelves, fridges and freezers you will notice many of the small businesses products they stock and support.

Their selection of fresh baked goods and hot food like their bacon and egg rolls are just 🤤🤤🤤

Hi Everyone

Sadly I will be leaving the Willunga Farmers Market 😔 after being apart of this amazing community since 2019 my final day will be next weekend April 20th 😔

Business has been alot quieter the last 6 months or so, actually the last few years as many of us have felt but for me more so the last 6 months, and it's becoming more and more difficult to continue in the same way.

It is very sad to have to make this decision but the grip of business expenses is getting higher and higher, tighter and tighter and unfortunately I've had to look for more work.

I have found a casual job, it's a weekend role which unfortunately means I will not be available to be at the farmers market anymore.

If you didn't already know, during the week Josh and I work in our landscaping company do check it out 😄 he is 100% the brains and skill but I'm there too 😆 the work we get to do is pretty cool 😄

I'm not looking to close down the brand I will be continuing to make treats during the week and continuing to have our online shop and stockists so you lovely people can still get your hands on our treats 😊

Basically everything as normal for the online shop and wholesale no changes there at all, I will be a bit more absent on social media but I will be diverting more people on where they can buy our treats in person.

I am absolutely most open to taking on more stockists aswell if you have any recommendations or if there's anyone you think I should get in contact with that shares the same vibe for local produce and business

I appreciate all of your support in my little business so much, it has been an incredible experience since I started up in 2018. It has allowed me to grow and accomplish alot of things I didn't think were feasible.

I will miss all the chats from seeing you at the market every fortnight in person, updates about your dogs and learning bits of your lives. Thank you so so much!

If you have been to the Willunga or Adelaide Farmers Market you have probably seen Meg and Aaron from

They breed and grow wessex saddleback pigs on open pasture with space and freedom to roam through the grass and mud wallows on their farm in Currency Creek. If you've bought their pork from the market you know 👌

In limited batches for as long as I can get my hands on it I will have available our new treat - PORKIE PACK - dried pork liver and heart in 100g bags

Just like our other meat treats I source the offal that I use directly from awesome farms and farmers around the Fleurieu Peninsula 🐖
