From our humble beginnings as a small one-man practice in Willunga over 35 years ago, Willunga & Aldinga Vets has grown to a team of 11 vets and 17 nurses. We all have various interests, which allows us to cater for a range of species including small animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds and native wildlife, through to farm animals such as cattle, sheep and alpacas. We offer a full r

ange of services to the southern Fleurieu Peninsula from health checks and vaccinations through to radiography, ultrasonography, and surgery. We also provide a 24 hour emergency service for our clients. Our Vets and Nurses are very approachable and willing to help when you require our assistance.

Little Monty, the gorgeous 5 kilogram Pomeranian, recently had surgery to correct his traumatic luxating patella (kneecap).

While Monty's parents were recently overseas on holiday, Monty had an accident and was unable to walk on his back leg. He was brought into our Willunga clinic for an appointment with Dr Michelle and she found he had a luxating patella that was unable to be popped back into the joint. After radiographs and surgical planning, Dr Emma performed surgery to realign Monty's knee and keep his patella in place.

Monty is doing extremely well, walking around like normal, only 10 days after surgery.

🐱 Meet Doug, a little 4-month-old kitty, that came to us with a very big problem. Doug was born with a portosystemic (liver) shunt. This is where an abnormal blood vessel forms, diverting blood away from the liver and leading to a build up of toxins in the body. Often cats with this disease are slow growers and can have neurological signs such as tremors and seizures.

Doug had an abdominal ultrasound with Dr Daniel to diagnose the problem and surgery was performed by Dr Emma to close the shunt. Doug had a smooth recovery and after only 4 weeks is rapidly gaining weight and his tremors have disappeared 💕

Doug has been a very cuddly yet cheeky patient to have in hospital and we look forward to seeing him at his recheck appointments.
