Quinn enjoyed visiting Aldinga Vets today. He got extra treats for recently celebrating his 14th birthday. Quinn is definitely enjoying retirement after spending many years as a guid dog 🐾🥰🫶🎂

Itchy skin can make things uncomfortable and can be tricky to fix 🤔
Let’s talk about itchy skin! Does your dog have any of the following skin conditions? Some dogs who are susceptible to skin conditions can have a flare up with the warmer weather and different grasses etc.
If you have noticed a change in your dogs skin condition give us a call and book an appointment so we can discuss treatment options.
Spring is such a lovely time of year so let’s help our dogs enjoy it too 😊🥰🐾☀️
It’s that time of year where we see in increase if fleas. Make sure your pet is up to date with parasite prevention 😊
See our friendly receptionists for advice 👍🌟
The aptly named Storm belongs to one of the nurses and has been cuddling in her bed today. What do your pets' get up to on a rainy summers day?

Elf had fun at the Aldinga Health Spa 🧖♂️ The autoclave is used in the clinic to sterilise instruments for surgery using heat and steam similar to a steam room.... well that's what elf was thinking anyway 😅
If your pet had a Christmas wish list, what would they have on it?

A couple of weeks ago we received a call out to a down sheep that was unable to stand. A number of possible causes come to mind for this presentation, including toxicities, metabolic disease or parasites. After collecting blood and finding the sheep was anaemic the main differential diagnosis became blood feeding worms...
On post mortem, we saw ‘haemonchus’ or Barbers pole (red and white striped) worms. These worms can be found in the abomasum (4th stomach) of sheep, goats and cattle and cause inappetence, ill thrift and anaemia. They do not necessarily cause diarrhoea often associated with high worm burdens, meaning the first signs often detected are collapse or sudden death. An important reminder to have a good worm management protocol in place, and to get that faeces in for worm egg count testing!
A huge thank you to everyone who came to our Senior Pet Information night last week. We had a great time and hope you did too!
An extra special thank you to our speakers; vets Clare and Martin, and Donna our IDEXX rep for their words of wisdom as well as Summa from Hills for donating her time. We hope that they have armed you with some good tips and tricks to help your furry friends through their senior years. If you missed it here is some of Clare's talk on musculoskeletal conditions.
We would love to run more nights like this in the future, so please let us know if you would be interested in another senior pet information night or if there are any other topics you would like us to cover and we will see what we can do!
Jet enjoying playing with a toy at puppy school. Training tip: remember to make training fun and enjoyable for you both.
Last weeks puppy school experience was with the tunnel. Audrey the Beagle discovered her inner agility skills and took it in her stride to perform recalls through the tunnel. Perfect!
How cute is little Timber demonstrating a great 'sit' during his first week of Puppy School? We are very proud of all our Puppy School pups (including the gorgeous Audrey doing some excellent overseeing in the background) and look forward to showing off more of their skills as they progress through the course 😃
