Santa came early for little Miss Alsie who walked out with a brand new Pablo and Co harness after her vaccination.
Not sure if she’s more excited about the harness or the tag that came with the harness!!

Friendly reminder to all our lovely clients that our Christmas and New years hours are,

Closed Christmas Day 25th December

All other days are trading as normal but we are on the phone 24/7 for any emergencies that may pop up!

Everyone meet Dr Rebecca Harris

Hi, My name is Rebecca but everyone calls me Bec. I’m a veterinarian here at Colac Vet Clinic. I’m from Perth WA where I completed my studies before moving to Colac to chase the large animals as I love a good calving.

My favourite dog breed is?
Greyhounds, I’ve had greyhounds my whole life and have a special soft spot for them.

My favourite food is?
Fettuccine carbonara and anything that is not a vegetable!

My favourite product in the clinic is?
I absolutely love the app called the pill counting app, it’s so handy when dispensing high numbers of medications.

My dream destination is?
I really want to visit Switzerland one day.

My favourite outside work activity is?
I do love a good book and have really enjoyed walking the waterfalls down in the Otway’s.

Everyone meet Alice!!

Hi I’m Alice, I have been a vet at Colac Vet Clinic for just over a year and a half. I really enjoy being a vet working with a large variety of animals. I have a keen interest in chronic disease management and creating the best plan that is tailored to both the animal and the client. I also really love calving season!

My favourite dog breeds are
Cocker spaniels and cavalier King Charles spaniels. I really like the floppy ears and their loyalty to their owners.

My favourite food is
🎂!!!!!

My favourite product in the clinic is
The ‘Delicate Care Hypoallergenic Dog Treats’ - they have an active ingredient to help reduce tarter buildup and can be suitable for dogs with sensitive stomach and skins.

My dream holiday destination is
Antarctica - I’d love to see the penguins

Outside of work I am a keen hockey player. I play for the Geelong sharks and preparing for a trip to Hong Kong next year to play for the Australian Country Women’s team.

Meet Our Veterinary Nurse Mardi

Hi, I’m Mardi. I’m a Nurse here at the Clinic. I’m from Serpentine (VIC), where I grew up on a sheep and cropping farm. I have an interest in animal nutrition and I’m planning on furthering my studies and knowledge in that area.

My favourite Dog breed is?
Kelpies, I just love their energy and enthusiasm as I have one at home named Chase! But I do have a soft spot for all breeds

My Favourite Food is?
Stir-fry (Noodles) and CAKE!!

My favourite product in the clinic is?
4CYTE, it is created for Dogs and Cats to help target the underlaying causes that are associated with osteoarthritis and older age.

My dream holiday destination?
Africa is a destination I have wanted to visit for quite a while now! I finally booked the flights and I can’t wait to go there next year!!

Favourite outside of work activity?
I love reading and gardening. And I love to cook and bake including making cakes and treats for everyone at the clinic.

Ollie visited us with his mum for his second vaccination. He got lots of cuddles and treats 🦴

Remember to everyone to not put their puppies on the ground in public until they are fully vaccinated so they don’t catch any nasty viruses!! 🐾🐾

Meet Dr Shane Lyons

I am one of the owners of the practice and I’m interested in lots of different animals, although I mainly work with the farm animals. I am also responsible for lots of the management stuff that goes on in the background to make things work as smoothly as possible in the clinic.

Your favourite dog breed is?
German Shepherds, because I would be in trouble at home if I said otherwise (and they are pretty cool dogs!)

Your favourite food is?
Evelyn makes a warm chicken salad - it is always my birthday meal request.

Your favourite product or tool within the clinic is?
The humble mobile phone -because I am old enough to have worked before they were affordable, so I still appreciate what a difference they have made to farm work and on call work.

Your dream holiday destination is?
Egypt - I would love to see the pyramids

Your favourite outside of work activity?
Fishing -but if I don’t catch any fish then I call it boating.

First up we have,

Dr Zoe Wittwer

Hi, I’m Zoe. I’m one of our mixed practice Vets. I am from Penola South Australia off a Spud farm 🥔. I love working in the Colac area because of the variety of cases we get to see and treat. I am particularly interested in small animal surgery and getting out on the farm seeing large animals, especially love an abscess or two!!

My favourite dog breed is?
Although it can vary day to day, I have a soft spot for cocker spaniels and Staffys due to their lovely temperaments.

My favourite food is?
Thai - specifically red curry!!

My favourite product in the is?
Pet pill popper to help give your pets their medications.

My dream holiday destination is?
Summer in Europe -> especially Turkey and Portugal

Favourite outside of work activity?
Netball at Birregurra and the Beach with my friends in Summer

Our Vets and Spud want to remind everyone to keep their Chocolate and Hot Cross buns locked up from our furry friends.

We will be closed from Friday to Monday so if Chocolate or Hot Cross buns are eaten, please call our clinic number 5232 1792 to be put through to our after hours Vet.
So they don’t end up like poor Cleo who decided that Hot Cross Buns aren’t very tasty the second time around 🐇
