Given a positive ride by jockey Brendan Ward he was able to draw on his toughness to hold the challengers at bay.

Stepping up to the 1400m, Joey came with a powerful finish to overhaul them right on the line to break through for his maiden win today at Benalla.
Aided by a gun steer from Logan McNeil who made the race winning move in pulling the whip through to the left to straighten him up.
Congratulations to his winning owners, many who are celebrating their first win as owners.

Despite being out on his feet late in the race, Theo was able to dig deep under a great ride from Jake Duffy to get the win.
A huge thrill to get a win for an extremely patient and loyal ownership group and for Liz and Amy who have cared for him since he was born. Thanks to the team at home for all that they do in getting horses like Theo educated to perform on race day.

The big, grey girl breaks her maiden in impressive style at Corowa today.
Given no favours from the wide gate, Nick got her to settle & she finished all over the top of them late.
Itโs great to get the win for a fantastic bunch of owners, many of them also raced her mother which is extra special for them.

Todayโs win takes her winnings beyond $110k which is a great reward for her ownership group.
