I've been asked, what inspires me to draw animals?
My dogs rekindled my passion for drawing, which had been dormant since my youth and when my kids were little. I wanted to capture Charlie, my adopted dog's likeness before he left my side. Then, I started drawing my other dogs, including Macey, my Great Dane cross, and Missy. After Charlie passed away, we welcomed Holly, and I drew her as a puppy, which now features on my business card. This journey led me to draw Australian animals and friends' dogs, and people began to commission me for pet portraits. I'm thrilled to be doing something I love, and I hope this inspires others to pursue their passions.
