Baby sun conure hatched and some baby cockatiels. 2 rainbow lorikeet babies being handraised at the moment and 2 handraised rainbow lorikeets fully weaned and are available now. 🐣🦜

They will be moved to the brooder at the end of next week to start being handfed.

Hi all, just needed to share a little sad news. The two little cockatiel babies sadly passed away, we believe it was the cold windy weather we had recently. Had to share in case anyone was waiting for the next update on them. Hopefully we will only have good news and updates to share in the future.

For a more positive note the lorikeets have eggs and other cockatiel pairs have eggs, I will check on those over the next few days to see if they are fertile and the sun conures have become protective of their home so it appears they are getting ready to lay also.

An update on the sun conure babies, a bit overdue... it’s been a busy few weeks juggling work and feeding these two and with one of them having a disability it will need to stay with us and have a specialised home built for it. Other than that they are both eating well and practising their wing flapping ready for their first flight 🤞😊

Getting ready for the 2 sun conure babies to come inside, just in time with the cool weather approaching. This will be our schedule from now until they are weaned with some alterations as they get older. They are almost 5 weeks old so that means we will be busy bird parents for 4-6 weeks.

We have our last cockatiel babies and lorikeet babies left for the season, we are giving the parents a rest ready to start the next season in August.
The sun conures have surprised us with round 2!
Those will be the last babies we hand raise so we get a break over winter 😁

The little baby in the aviary has left the nest box, such a little cutie. Not sure 100% who laid the egg that this one hatched from but Tweety the yellow bird in the background did a good job raising him/her. A bit of nest box swapping and shenanigans going on in this aviary 😅
