Box Divvy is Community owned and run. This is a fruit veg and grocery cooperative. We purchase as a group up to 40% cheaper than supermarket

s. It’s a Smart coop and you get more of what you want than a normal coop. Box Divvy is a food box sharing system connecting growers & food producers directly with the Food. It is community owned and run designed to cut your food bill. You join online - there is no registration fee. https://www.boxdivvy.com/ You use an App on your phone or computer or a pad to order. Working with Western Sydney Diabetes Alliance - our aim is to provide accessible, inexpensive good quality fresh food.

4 DAY ORDER CYCLE – FOR Wednesday pick up

Friday 9pm – Order creation
It’s an OPT OUT SYSTEM so if you don’t want an order for the coming week, you must suspend prior to Friday 9pm. Your “WISH LIST VOTE” and any changes you wish to make to your household size must also be done by Friday 9pm. Saturday - Starting Order Published
Login take up to 3 things out and JOIN SPLITS. Monday 9pm - CUTOFF
Orders closed. Cards charged. There are 2 automatic processing’s, if those both decline - a $5 recharge fee is applied as it pays for someone to manually reprocess. You must pay BEFORE pick-up. Wednesday - PICK UP. You must pick up day of delivery at the pick-up time or arrange with Hubster. PAYMENTS
You must pay for your order once committed to an order cycle. Once in an Order Cycle we cannot withdraw an order. It is your responsibility to suspend the correct weeks. ORDERING SYSTEM
Dead simple. You share boxes online using the App. SUSPENDING ORDERS
When you tick the date, wait, it will turn red to confirm suspension. You’re expected to order weekly or fortnightly. STARTING ORDER
There’s a Starting Order based on your weekly ‘wish list’ VOTE and you can take out up to 3 things. Every week BEFORE Order Creation do a Wish List Vote to help Hubster (person who organisers Hub) to set up Starting Order. SHARE BOXES known as SPLITS
If you wish for more, you join Splits and share boxes. You can suggest a box to share or to your Hubster. Such as saying to your group: “Who’d like to share a box of apples?”

At order cut-off you pay automatically online (Visa or Mastercard & Secure Eway Payment gateway) then boxes from growers & food wholesalers come to the Hubster’s house for packing. You pick up from their place or they may offer home delivery. FRUIT, VEG, BREAD, EGGS – Order, pay, receive this week
GROCERIES – Order, pay, receive next week due to fresh roasting of coffee and made to order. BREAD baker direct – Minimum HUB order total is $30
GROCERIES wholesaler direct – Minimum HUB order is $75. MEAT AND SEAFOOD (NEW) – Order every 4 weeks. READ THE AMOUNTS YOU ARE PURCHASING
Please check carefully if the items are single, handfuls, 500gm, 1 kg etc. Don't assume it's by one item. EXAMPLE: Cherries sold by the box, make sure you’re not putting in 5 thinking it's handfuls when it's boxes. Read the descriptions please. EXTRAS
There are ALWAYS extras as the box belongs to members so your Hubster will divvy extras when available. There is also usually a SWAP box - if you forget to customise your Starting Order, you can throw in some apples and take out some carrots that someone else did not want. You will get great value. COMMUNITY BOX
Many Hubster’s ask members if this SWAP BOX can become a COMMUNITY KINDNESS BOX given to a family in need. This is part of the Social Enterprise experience by being part of the Hub. NOT WANT AN ORDER? There are no contracts, you can suspend orders when you don’t want them. WANT EXACTLY 1 tomato 2 oranges? Then Box Divvy is not for you. This is a coop and things are in handfuls NOT exact items. You need to be flexible but you'll always get good value. We are a group of community minded people wanting to change the food system. Reduce packaging and pay our farmers fairly. By reducing our carbon footprint by 90% this means we buy in bulk as a group and then share it. We need to be a bit flexible. You will know roughly what you will get but you can’t get exact. We have a Packing Guide but the numbers will change as produce is smaller or larger. Mostly you will get extras overall. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT I SPEND? EASY. You will pay the STARTING ORDER PLUS if you join in SPLITS or ADD Groceries. At the bottom of MY ORDER you will see the MAX you will pay if all your SPLITS get over the line, any groceries you’ve ordered and the Starting Order. You can reduce the SPLITS or Groceries you joined BEFORE CUTOFF. PACKAGING
Much of the produce comes loose so please provide your Hubster with a NAME LABELLED BAG: ALSO - calico/wash nets to put handfuls in (do not expect your Hubster to provide paper bags please): Bring in your old icecream containers, for example, for the Hub to put soft stuff in. If you get an item in plastic, recycle it in your soft plastic bin. We don't interrupt the packing from the farmer. Farmers are trying to work out how to transport produce and it can’t always be plastic free - for the moment. The Sugar Cane bags are not strong, don't last and definitely not airtight. Cardboard and paper fall apart. New technology is being worked on. NOT FOR ME
If after you’ve tried it and Box Divvy is not working the way you want, then you can cancel membership. So? Join our group to make a difference. You have the power to do so. Cut your food bill significantly – Wow! The goal: to cut your food bill, without compromising on the quality, freshness and variety of food. With minimal effort, minimal packaging and food miles, and still paying farmers and suppliers a fair price for their produce.

Lolli’s Artisan Soup Mixes: a meal on its own

Produced by Colleen Walters on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, these mixes will take your soup to a while new level. Or at least, they’ll save you time (and money) having to get each ingredient on its own. (Each variant has between 20 and 40 different ingredients – and all of them (except for maltodextrin) are whole foods and spices.

The packs look colourful – almost too good to open – but trust us: they’re worth it. Each one will deliver 10-12 serves (easily 2-2.5L) of thick and richly flavoured soup.

Available flavours:
✴️Thai Curry
✴️Italian Garden
✴️Tex Mex Chilli
✴️Split Pea
✴️Mulligatawny

The Box Divvy price is $10 each ($13.95 elsewhere), which works out to less than $1 per serve. Please note: some flavours will need additional ingredients (e.g. bacon for the Split Pea Soup).

You’ll find them in Pantry ➡️ Meal Preparation ➡️ Soup, Stock & Gravy.

Mayver’s Nut Spreads: 100% nuts

We’ve ranged Mayver’s peanut butter and other nut spreads before, so what’s the story?

About a year ago, H2G was supplying us with Mayver’s organic peanut butter – but they always struggled with the Best Before Date (i.e. the stock was old by the time we got it), so we replaced it with Ridiculously Delicious Peanut Butter. True to its brand name: it’s truly delicious but also a little ridiculously expensive at over $7 a jar. Don’t worry, we’re keeping the brand for the true PB Believers – but since Cozzie Livs has started dominating everyone’s lives, we felt we needed a slightly more economical – but almost as tasty and honest-to-goodness-100%-nuts-only PB. But still 100% Aussie nuts.

And that’s Mayver’s for you: no ifs, no buts, no maybes – but Mayver’s.

And in addition to the Crunchy and Smooth peanut butter, we also offer:
Mayvers Pure Goodness Everything Spread – 8 different nuts and seeds
Mayvers Almond Butter
Mayvers Tahini Hulled.

And until the end of this month, they’re all 10% off their already low price.

Not just for vegetarians: Nutrisoy Tofu and Tempeh

Tofu and Tempeh are tasty and sustainable sources of protein. But there’s a lot more to it: tofu and tempeh are:-
✅️Low in saturated fat and no cholesterol
✅️High protein content
✅️Good source of calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and selenium
✅️Rich in isoflavones - phytochemicals that protect against cancer and heart disease
✅️Heart healthy: 25g of soy protein per day, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease
✅️Beneficial for bones

So the addition of Tofu and Tempeh to our Chilled Line-up is long overdue.
The range includes 5 different Tofus – from firm to silken – as well as some flavoured tofu. All but one are made from Australian-grown soybeans – and they are all non-GMO.
The Tempeh range includes 4 products, including a tasty Tempeh burger.

You will find them in Chilled ➡️Vegetarian and Vegan ➡️ Tofu/Tempeh.

And until the end of July, they are 10% off. Now, that’s tempting…

Divvying the new soup pack at Box Divvy East Corrimal this week, I was impressed by its size and value!

Info re: soup pack below...

🥣 Box Divvy’s version of The Soup Pack

The eastern seaboard continues to suffer from a cold snap, so: bring out the soup. And to help you get started, we’re putting together a Soup Pack.

There are plenty of Soup Packs around, but none of them are particularly generous. Take the Coles version: 1 potato, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip, 1 turnip and 1 celery stick – barely 1 kilo of hard vegetables to make stock, priced at $4.90.

The Box Divvy version weighs at least 1.5kg, and costs $4.76. Weight for weight, that’s 35% cheaper than the Coles version.

You’ll find them in Vegetables ➡️ Other

Some great ideas on how to use the new afghan bread...

Thanks Box Divvy St Ives - Torokina

For those of us who purchased some Afghan blanket/wood-fired flatbreads 🤪 these are my beautiful Afghan neighbour’s comments for us…

“Afghan breads are generally absolutely delicious 😋

When I do get them, I cut them into square pieces put them back in its plastic bag and straight into the freezer. You can toast them frozen or thaw them first, they are then as good as gold.

They are amazing toasted with butter or avocados, cheeses and of course with all your soups, stews, dips and kebabs and also toasted on your cheese platter. Enjoy ☺️”

Thanks Roshana Mangal⁩ truly appreciate your input 🙏🏻

Thanks Box Divvy Seven Hills - Nowland.

😲 Look at the size of the new Kabul Star Bakery Afghan bread compared to one of our mini Hub members 🥰

📏 Each loaf is whopping 70cm long and you get TWO of them for $4.58! Talk about excellent value.

🤤 I tried some toasted in the sandwich press with grape tomatoes and cheese - yum!

🤔 One of the kiddos had it fresh with peanut butter and frozen raspberries... Apparently also yum?!

😆 I should have known, but I highly doubt they'll be any left to go with the Monjay Mezza dips I ordered for Saturday delivery 🤭 Better just order again next week!

On the weekends, when we have a bit more time, we like to start the day with a fresh juice.

All our fruit and veg from Box Divvy tastes great and works perfectly to make a sweet fresh juice with nothing extra added to improve the flavour.

Our carrots and pink lady apples are especially loved - you won't get that amazing taste in the supermarkets!

My family most often juices apples, oranges, carrot, and celery. The beautiful pink colour comes from fresh beetroot. We often add ginger or turmeric for more punch too.

There are so many combinations and they all taste great! Why don't you give one a go today.

And here is another price comparison by Box Divvy Terrace - Minnesota. Did you know that Box Divvy is not just fruit and veg!?

If you're looking to stop lining the supermarkets' pockets, while paying less for fresher food, try your local Box Divvy.
Box Divvy is a social enterprise business connecting local communities with farmers and growers. Ordering is just like online shopping via an app but you pick it up from a neighbour. There are hubs all over NSW, with lots in Lake Mac and Newcastle.
You can buy all your fruit, veggies, meat, chilled, bakery and lots of pantry items. You may never need to go to a supermarket again.

NEW TO MARKETPLACE 🤩

Few new surprises in marketplace this week:

🫐 Blueberries are back! They’re often called a “superfood.” This small but mighty berry is loaded with nutrients . They may help lower blood pressure, prevent heart disease, improve memory, aid in exercise recovery, and more.

🍅 Rainbow medleys are small and sweet! Perfect for salad or even just to snack on!

💜 What do you call a group of beets hanging out together? A root-ful of friends! 😂 Raymond Camilleri is picking bunches of beets in Castlereagh.

💛 Yellow caps are milder in taste than green capsicum, and so are known as sweet peppers. They are high in antioxidants, vitamin C and potassium.

What will you be adding to your order this week? 🧐

Even I need this hack Box Divvy ACT - Evatt - Clancy! Thanks for the tip.

I just saw this "lazy hack" for baking pumpkin ready to use in your choice of soup for winter and thought it's too good not to share! This is a great hack for anyone, but particularly people who live with arthritis or similar issues. All you need to do is this:

- Place the whole pumpkin on a lined baking tray in a moderate oven for up to an hour
- Check after approximately 45mins
- Bake until the skin starts blistering and juices start leaking
- Leave to cool completely
- Slice like a cake, discard seeds and peel the skin off

Minimal effort, maximum flavour!

Your pumpkin is now ready to use in your favourite winter soup recipes. You could even brush the slices with some oil/honey/maple syrup, bake again briefly to get some caramelisation happening, before then adding to your soup.

Look at this banana!

It always amazes me when our Box Divvy bananas look too old to eat and then you open them and they are perfect inside!

This one was destined for some banana bread, but honestly we could've kept it for many more days.

Why do our bananas last so long? Because they are ripened naturally, not gassed to make an unripe banana yellow, like they do in the supermarkets.

It's SO much better to shop with Box Divvy! Come and unsupermarket with us!
