Shilo’s mum wanted to keep her body longer so we did an all over tidy, keeping the majority of the body length but we gave her back her beautiful puppy face.

I’ve been so flat out the last couple weeks, I keep forgetting to take pictures.
Lenny was in again today.
After having an adventure in a puddle and some brambles.

Since posting handsome Harrison today I’ve had a few inquiries about cat deshedding.
Does it hurt the cat? No.
Do they enjoy it? Like most things some do, some don’t. (But I have cat-proof elbow length gloves for when they really don’t!)
Is it just for longer cats like the handsome fella I groomed today? No. Any cat can benefit from a good groom. And while short haired cats don’t leave an entire cats worth behind, removing excess fur can reduce the risk of throat irritation and fur balls plus the added bonus reducing the risk of having cat hair on every surface in your home.

Hairy kitty?
Harrison and his brother came in today for a good deshed.
Did you know cats vomiting is often caused by stuck hair balls irritating your cat’s throat causing their gag reflex to well, gag?
By intervening to remove excess hair you can significantly reduce this and it makes for less hair on the couch!
That’s a win/win for kitties and their humans.

A day of doppelgängers, or is that Doggelgängers?
This young lady was also in today for a groom!
The resemblance to previous client Reggie is hard to deny but they’ve never even met!
Full disclosure Nessie is my sons’s dog. My grand-doghter if you will.
You can tell by her face, she doesn’t love coming to Nanna’s salon but she does loves rolling in p**p so sacrifices have to be made.
15/10 my stinkiest client.

I didn’t manage to get a beautiful picture of Reggie after his groom because he’s on interpols most wanted list and he immediately had to go back into hiding.
Not really. He did really wanna go home though.
Reggie is only 14 weeks old and came in today for his very first bath.
I’ll be honest. He was not stoked about it.
Not all dogs love the water or appreciate getting their bottom scrubbed by a strange lady but we did manage to get through it with minimal stress.
Reggie told everyone in the neighbourhood of his displeasure but he was mostly brave and got his ears cleaned and nails clipped on top of his bath.
10/10 loudest boy!

Don’t let the puppy dog eyes fool you, Dot (a Great Dane / Irish wolf hound / big girl mix) was the happiest pupperino for her bath today.
We sang songs, we swapped kisses, we (and by we, I mean Dot) ripped the door of the bath tub off its hinges with our exuberance and biggest girl tubby time joy.
15/10 for Dot’s enthusiasm.
-5/10 for wreckin’ the joint.

This is the stunning senior Miss Remmie.
She came in today for a full groom- which includes teeth and ear cleaning and a 4-paw pedicure.
We took it at Miss Remmie’s pace and took a short break for her to rest, but she went home looking absolutely stunning.

Alright I won’t give up my grooming job for poetry anytime soon but what I’m trying to say is Powder Puff Paws does our very best to groom everyone.
If your best fur-ever friend is anxious around baths and grooming we do the best we can to promote a calm, stress free environment so even if your pet doesn’t enjoy a scrub down we try to make it as pleasant as we possibly can.
With all the treats on hand and going to a pace that suits your pet we pride ourselves on not churning out pets as fast as possible to make profit but to build a positive relationship with your animals.
So next time your buddy sees me, he knows I’m the nice lady with the treats and the big shiny tub.

Our new friend Stax was in today for a bath.
Stax is another big boy who has bath time anxiety.
We like to go slow and gentle with anxious pups so most of Stax’s appointment today was about getting comfortable together and sharing snacks.
We got comfortable enough together that Stax was happy to let me give him a bath, clean his ears and his teeth. And he went home looking very handsome.

Josie is an elderly German Sheperd mix who has bath-time anxiety particularly around the noise the dryer makes.
Happy hoodies make drying time simpler and Josie tends to handle the noise much better while wearing one.
