Lucy from Mumma and Babies Rescue had her dental scale and polish yesterday!
For a thorough assessment and cleaning the dogs (and cats) are anaesthetised. Not many dogs sit still for teeth brushing, they certainly won't sit still for subgingival scaling with an ultrasonic scaler.
Lucky for Lucy, she didn't need any extractions today.
Pumba says don't forget it's late night Thursday at the clinic! Open on this very rainy night til 9pm - book online at www.yourvillagevet.com.au

Have a safe and restful long weekend and please don't forget that chocolate and raisins/grapes can be very harmful for dog so please be extra cautious to keep chocolates and hot cross buns out of their reach!
How much tooth fairy money for 7 baby teeth?
Retained teeth (especially the canines) cause problems for the adult teeth coming down and creates more calculus, leading to dental disease, which can cause bacteria to enter the blood stream and make your dog sick. Best thing to do with retained teeth is have them removed.
Our clinic will be closed on Friday 26th January and Saturday 27th January.

It would not be a bad idea to check your microchip details for your pets, check online at petregistry.nsw.gov.au as we know fireworks and storms are triggers for pets to escape.
Also, please remind the family and any visitors that human food is not for your pets. An emergency vet bill is the last thing you need.
Wishing you all a safe, happy and relaxing Christmas this year.

Hi everyone, just another paralysis tick reminder. We haven't had any tick paralysis cases this month but MANY close calls!
Time to check:
What product did you give? Some products don't cover paralysis ticks.
When was it given? Overdue prevention doesn't offer protection.
Do you have $10,000 in an emergency fund for potential paralysis tick treatment, a largely preventable illness?
Hi everyone, we just pulled a paralysis tick off a dog. This is your reminder to check your pet is up to date on tick prevention. Check and then check again.

"Accidents happen"
Here's your reminder to spey or castrate your pets.
Fun fact. We can ultrasound at 3+ weeks to confirm pregnancy - can't get a count of how many puppies or kittens because of the way the uterus lies. Sometimes we can see one foetus, sometimes we can see hundreds (just kidding) it's just difficult to give an exact number.
And we can xray late in the pregnancy for a count.
