Grrrr! It is only an industry if people buy them! Buy your puppy from a reputable breeder that is governed by at least breed standards organisations but preferably from homes that are registered breeders with NSW Dogs (government) and governed by the law. This is only for purebred (pedigree) dogs, not designer cross breeds.
Alternatively- a rescue organisation.

A massive rescue and rehabilitation operation has been unfolding in Tasmania after the RSPCA successfully shut down the state’s biggest puppy farm.

Many of the 250 dogs surrendered by 'Tasmania Labradoodles', which faced dozens of charges of overbreeding, have never been in contact with a human.

One poor dog was described as being ‘paralysed by fear’, with others suffering from extreme matting, ear infections and hernias.

Now, thanks to a compassionate collaboration between RSPCA Tasmania North East Animal Sanctuary Tasmania Brightside Farm Sanctuary and The Dogs Homes of Tasmania, these dogs are finally getting the love and care they always deserved.

For the first time ever, they are receiving proper vet care, grooming, regular nutritious meals, socialisation and enrichment through toys, walks and cuddles.

And as their healing journey begins, one by one we are starting to see them being transformed by the touch of human kindness showing just how resilient and forgiving these beautiful animals can be.

Puppy farming is legal across Australia. While some states have caps on breeding and living conditions may vary, one thing they all have in common is that they treat animals who inherently crave companionship as nothing more than breeding machines. They deny them everything that makes a dog’s life worth living.

And as thousands of dogs are killed in shelters each year because there aren’t enough good homes to go to, puppy farmers just keep on breeding — adding fuel to the fire of this cycle of suffering.

On its website, Tasmania Labradoodles states the "family business" are "dedicated breeders of the highest-quality, multi-generation labradoodles". The truth as we’ve now discovered is that the dogs inside were enduring a living nightmare. And they’re not alone. Investigations in every state of Australia have uncovered dogs in puppy farms leading a similar, miserable existence.

Australia is often called a nation of dog lovers but this love is unwittingly fuelling a cruel and callous industry. The stark reality is that this puppy farm only existed because people kept buying their puppies.

The best way to break this cycle of suffering is to refuse to be part of it.

By adopting your next best friend, you will not only ensure you aren‘t unwittingly supporting a cruel puppy factory — you will also save a life. Rescue pets come in all shapes, sizes, breeds, ages, and are suitable for every lifestyle and home. All they are missing is someone to love.

Don’t forget to keep your dogs teeth clean! Long term tartare causes build up’s that eventually need to be removed under anaesthetic.
Here’s the size range that I use daily for my dogs at home. Ranging from the tiniest Chihuahua cross “Mystic” up to the biggest dog Saint Bernard “Merlin”.

In Home Consultations:
A big day out for our new girl Mystic (Chihuahua x) who helped Merlin (Saint Bernard) and Magic (Australian Shepherd) with Ollie the Border Collie. Ollie’s owners have done a brilliant job following my previous instructions and working on his behaviour.
By the time it came to adding dogs to the formula yesterday- he was super unfazed by the presence of a tiny dog, then a medium sized dog then a giant dog. Then a combination of all three until we had all three at once!!!
We even found a potential “Junior Handler” in their family! Great job Keira! She was handling my dogs through the session. Woo hoo!!

The Poodle is a German breed originally used for water retrieving… the original traditional working trim of the poodle is what you see bellow without the extra head hair, with hair left on the wrist joints, hips/kidney and barrel of the chest to protect these areas when working and swimming … the legs are shaved bare to reduce weight from wet coat and make swimming easier 💗 ideally poodles of all colour have dark pigmented skin as seen bellow 🐩

P.S this girl spends about 5 hours a week (or more) being brushed and combed to ensure her coat remains mat and knot free, each night she hops up on the lounge for her nightly brush/comb through 💗 be sure to keep your pooches maintained if you would like longer styles

Chantelle Doyle’s Instructor Dog Lucey is very old now and prefers to be sledded around when she goes with her family to dog friendly snow areas. She genuinely gets towed along in a sled ❤️🤣❤️

Something to think about.

Having a Sanctuary for old dogs, the soul destroying issue is having to say no - I had to say no as I did not have room to take in your old dog that you no longer want today. You said you were moving and couldn't take him with you, but I had to say no. You couldn't wait until next week for me to be able to help so you dropped him off in a parking lot, he was hit by a car and is dead.

I had to say no again today as I could not take in 2 old dogs that were going to be euthanized. I told you to hold off until I made some calls and when I called you back, you said 'it has been taken care of' I had to say no.

The pound kill list came out today and I did not see in time the old dog needing a home and when I rang and told them I could take him in tomorrow, he had already been put to sleep.

You tagged me in on a FB post today as someone was giving away their old dog for free. I had to say no. What happened to that dog?

You dropped off your dog today to me after having her for 13 years and she accidentally peed on your carpet so she had to go, She has cancer so I got her the treatment she needed but in the end, as I held her close to me while she drew her last breath in, I was glad I did not say no.

I know you hear from me about all the old dogs we have saved over the years but a lot of the time, I think about the old dogs I had to say no to.

I thank you for joining us on our mission to save the old dogs that do not have a voice. You can help by saving an old dog that has been left in a shelter/pound or being given away for free.

Please welcome Mystic. She is the newest member of our Naughty Dog School family. She is a 2 year old Chihuahua and is completely untrained, not toilet trained and pretty well a blank slate! She’s not been inside a house or travelled in a car so she’s been a bit of hard work to accustom her to the world of being a pet dog. If all goes well Mystic will joining Magic as an Instructor Dog and help Merlin with his work too! .
