📣 We are taking a break 📣

To all of our valued clients and their beautiful fur babies.

Thank you for all your support over the past few years. We have loved working with you and your dogs, and we hope we have made a difference in your life.

We will be taking an extended break as I (Chloe) travel around Australia with my family.

Beautiful Milo and Ruby.

We had our first session yesterday working on social anxiety and reactive anxiety for Milo.
He was so receptive to training and ended up making a new best friend with trainer Emilee.
Ruby was the best moral support for Milo… and ensured he shared his treats with her 😉

Little Piper and her family welcomed Pet Praise into their home last week for a puppy training visit.

We discussed positive reinforcement training, toilet training, enrichment, recall and more.

I had the pleasure of working with this gorgeous pair this afternoon.

We focused on managing and improving their jumping, biting and chewing, and started training. They are so clever and their owners are doing a great job 🤍

We are back to in-home sessions and they are looking as cute as ever. Starting with this handsome boy, Hank 🐾

Hank is only 17 weeks old and he is learning that it is ok to be left alone.

Tip:
💻 With home schooling and more people than ever working from home, don’t forget to give your dog some alone time everyday.

🐕 Yes, your dogs would be loving having you at home all the time and I bet they have been on more walks then ever. But, as life is slowly becoming more normal again it is crucial that your dog is not dependent on being with you all the time.

🦴 Give them something fun to do when you do go out. Try their favourite treat, a stuffed kong, treasure hunt or food puzzle.

🥳 We’re back 🥳

As of this week, we are back to conducting in-home puppy set ups & puppy training, training sessions (for all aged dogs) and customised behaviour consultations, covid safe of course!

One of the most common recommendations we see in local community group discussions is to spray your dog or cat when it does something undesirable. As you can see, it is not the best idea!! Can you share an example of what to do instead?

Here's one idea: if your cat jumps up on the bench (because she wants to be up high like all cats!), ask her to jump on a nearby perch instead where she IS allowed to be, and give a reward!

Hello, my name is Luna. I am a 2 year old , Kelpie X Labrador and I am desperately looking for a new home and family to love me. And I promise to love you back!
I am very sweet and friendly with other dogs, and I like children. I promise to do my best not to chew your shoes or dig up your garden too!

J A S P E R 🐶 This gorgeous little boy, his owners and I are working on quite a number of behaviour ‘problems’ at home. The owners are doing a great job with him and he has already improved so much in under two weeks! One of the problems was his barking and running out the front door (and not coming back). Look how well he is doing here when the owner is opening the front door and greeting ‘someone’ 🙌 You can teach your dog to do just about anything with positive reinforcement training and some time 🦴

Pet Praise Behaviour has been built on the vision, love, and drive of two veterinary nurses to better the lives of companion animals. After 15 years in the veterinary industry, we have witnessed a lot of animals with behaviour problems that have gone undiagnosed and untreated. We have seen countless owners at a loss for where to seek help, and owners who have sought help but unfortunately received inappropriate advice.

This ignited a passion in both of us to better our training and education, so that we could help the animals out there who had a voice that wasn't being heard. From this passion, Pet Praise Behaviour was born.
