Located on Industrial Road Oak Flats, with a state of the art, purpose built, climate controlled facility to ensure the ultimate safety and comfort for your pooch during their visit. Perky Pooches books out 4-5 weeks in advance so customers are strongly encouraged to book one or two appointments in advance.

😍Those grey faces melt our hearts😍 At Perky Pooches we understand older dogs require a different level of care to that of their younger counterparts, if you have an older dog our team may discuss with you the concept of a ‘comfort groom’. As older dogs bodies start to fail them often standing for long periods of time, having their face or feet trimmed, being blow dried etc can become more stressful for them. A comfort groom works with each individual animal to avoid these stressors, in order to give your pooch the best haircut possible with the focus on reducing their stress and getting done what we can rather than the overall finish. This may mean we are no longer able to do poodle feet on some older poodles or trim their face in a certain way. Please understand that this is done with your pooches welfare in mind 💜

🏆And like that it’s OVER! Tiarne is getting ready to board her plane back to Australia🇦🇺

The day started at 3:30am, off to petsiconacademy to bath and prepare the teams dogs, onto the event that was held in the MIDDLE of a busy shopping complex, competing all day, dinner and home by 10pm!

It’s always an amazing experience to meet people as passionate about dogs and grooming as yourself, to watch other people work and see other styles of grooming from around the globe

The Dogs Australia National Grooming Team brought home 2nd place at their first ever international grooming competition! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Thank you to Plush Puppy Australia and DGS Imports for always ensuring Tiarne has all her favourite grooming tools and products on hand.

And thank you to little ‘Amanda’ the toy poodle for being such a beautiful little dog to work on 💜

Tiarne will be competing in August in the USA, then in Belgium in September for Groom Team Australia and again in Dec for Dogs Australia National Grooming Team. 🏆

Today’s game day! The team was up at 3:30am to go bath their competition dogs! This is not an individual event but a team event where 4 groomers compete in pure breed classes, each team member is scored individually, the 4 groomers scores are then added together and divided by 4 to get the team average!

❓Did you know❓ At Perky Pooches we accept baby puppies from one week after their second vaccination for their first grooming experience 💜 having years of experience grooming baby puppies, even starting our own at 4 weeks of age, you can be rest assured your puppy is in safe caring hands 💜 they are never too young to have their coat trimmed (this is an old wives tale) and the process will not change/alter their coat provided they are a wool/long coated breed requiring full body grooming

Be sure to pop in with your pooch and spoil them rotten! Choices galore!

Ever wondered about our academy? Elite Dog Grooming Academy is situated inside Perky Pooches and has students attend from across the country. Offering nationally recognised certification as well as private tuition and short courses, our students learn on real dogs that are pre approved by their owners and Tiarne. From time to time we may contact you to ask if you would like your dog to be a student dog for the day, where they can receive their usual groom, completed by our students with guidance and assistance where needed. 💜

Our Story

Perky Pooches was established in 2013 and specialises in providing the complete grooming experience for your pooch. Perky Pooches is owned and operated by Mulit BEST IN SHOW winning groomer and handler Tiarne Perkiss.

Winner of Runner Up Best New Business in the Illawarra for 2015 at the IWIB awards we pride ourselves on producing top quality work whilst placing the utmost importance on your dogs wellbeing.

We work by appointment only. To assure that you are not disappointed, it is best to call at least 2-3 weeks in advanced. If you keep your pet on a regular schedule we can easily set up a reoccurring appointment for you and send you a reminder message or call if you desire.

We continue to further our education in the industry by attending grooming seminars with international speakers such as the 2013 Aust groom seminar and the 2013 Purina GroomQuest seminar. Competitions are another way we continue our education, through competition we receive constructive criticism from both peers and international judges.
