Vet visits can be overwhelming for our feline friends, but with a little preparation, you can help make the experience calm and positive. Here’s how:

✨ Preparing Your Cat:
🔸 Make the Carrier Familiar: Keep the carrier out at home with a cozy blanket or towel inside. Add treats or toys to create a safe, inviting space.
🔸 Practice Calm Entry: Train your cat to enter the carrier with positive reinforcement like treats or gentle encouragement.
🔸 Use Calming Scents: Spray Feliway® 15 minutes prior on a blanket or towel in the carrier to help reduce anxiety.

✨ Keeping Calm During Travel:
🔸Place a familiar blanket or an item with your scent inside the carrier for comfort.
🔸Cover the carrier with a towel to reduce visual stress and secure it in the car with a seatbelt.
🔸Drive smoothly, keep the windows closed, and talk to your cat in a soothing voice.

✨ Tips for You:
🔸Plan Ahead: Prepare your cat’s carrier and any essentials (treats, a spare towel) the day before.
🔸 Stay Calm: Cats pick up on your emotions—breathe deeply and stay relaxed.

Many of you know her as the friendly face behind our front desk, always greeting you with a smile and maybe a treat of two for your pets!

While she's keeping everything running smooth for the team, she's also a rockstar nurse handling everything from bandaging pets to being named our champion cat whisperer.

Uh oh.. our clinic will be closed tomorrow - Saturday 7th December.

For emergencies, please contact Essendon Animal Referral Hospital on (03) 9379 0700 or Advanced Vet Care Kensington on (03) 9092 0400.

For everything else, we recommend giving your pet some extra snacks and a nap (for both of you). 😴🐾

🐾 Saying Goodbye to Our Beloved Migs 🐾

Today, we say goodbye to our sweet clinic cat, Migs, who is a cherished member of our team and family. She had brought much joy, comfort and love to everyone who met her, even when she would yell at us all for food.

In honour of Migs, we will be closing the clinic at 5:00pm today to give our team time to reflect and celebrate her life.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we take this time to remember our special friend.

Thank you, Migs, for all the love and memories. You will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. 🐾🐱❤️
