Salt is a vital component of the equine diet - it serves many functions but in winter it encourages your horse to drink so it does not dehydrate or develop intestinal discomfort.

Our pasture is often inadequate in late summer especially when we have experienced such a dry February after a summer that washed out the sugars! 🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑🐏

During these times, you may need to provide “supplementary feed” and mineral blocks. 🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾

Essentially a sheep needs both energy and bulk during these periods, so you should provide sheep pellets or a combination of grain and hay.💛💛💛⭐️
